Rubber Size

finally ordered my rims, and they should be here in a few days... the rims are 18x9....question is what size rubber should i use..

im thinking 235/40R/18.....but ive heard that 225/40R/18 should be used up to 9 inches...i know my neighbours rims are 8.5 and he uses the 225, but i dont know about 9's

I would use 225 to get that litle bit of stretch going on. Should look hot. What rims did you end up choosing?

225/40R18 will stretch across a 9.0 inch rim and still be within Manufacturers recommended specs, but it will be at the limit of the specs. Most tire manufacturers recommend a 7.5 to 9.0 inch wide rims for this size. Remember though, it will leave the sidewalls more exposed to pothole damage when you stretch... But IMO it is a small price to pay as stretch is HAWT! Fashion before function on this one... :bigpimp:

by the way the rims are 18 inch ADR limited edition battle ExE... Gunmetal Face with a nice sized polish lip.... should work until i can afford 19 inch i-Forged :drool:
