JDM plates?

Where can I get one?
Are they legal to drive with in Canada?

I'm hoping to avoid shipping one in from Okinawa, but it doesn't look like I have much of a choice. Seeing as lots of people ride with German plates on VW's, I think I should be able to get away with it, but I'm not sure.
Anyone able to shed some light?
