vancouver courts to review axe attack sentences

back story:
1 guy gets attacked by 4 at a party, and is paralyzed from the neck down when he gets struck in the neck 3 times with an axe. 2 of the offenders get off with a slap on the wrist (20 months house arrest for one, 3 years minus time served for the other), one gets off with no charges, and after the ruling, tv camera's catch them laughing on the way out of court.

bad move for them...

still sucks they only got charged with assault, but hopefully the review will result in a bit more of a punishment then house arrest during the evenings.

Wow. sat here thinking of something to say and thats all that came to mind. Our justice system sucks balls.

I could be wrong, but from what I've heard the 2 this story is about weren't the ones with the hatchet, the 4th guy that has yet to go to trial was. So at best these 2 could have been tried as accesories on top of their assault convictions.

I'm not saying they don't deserve more punishment, they do, just wanted to clear that up.

Instead of Hatchets and pickaxes it could be 9mm's and uzi's. people get creative with what they can get their hands on.:thumbsdow
