Cold must be making you dense. lol
He is saying the phone doesn't show any connections to any devices like the car or headphones.
However, he is saying the car connects to the phone (even though the phone doesn't see the connection on the device). He is wondering why the car can connect to the phone, download information like phone book, when he can't see the car being connected on the phone.
I would suggest you do a hard reboot.
Volume up, volume down, power and hold until the apple logo reappears.
Hoping to pick up an iPad for the gf - it would be for when she's doing botox. Primary purpose would be for her to use it to take photos of the clients (before and after) and draw on it to show them where should be injecting, etc.
I imagine she may end up using it for other basic things like tracking schedule, taking photos of documents, etc. Would it be worthwhile to shell out the extra cash to get the iPad pro or would the air likely be sufficient?
Air should be fine, though notably if you need to take pictures that is one of the places where the pro really shines. Current gen air is pretty good though.
The camera on my last gen air and the cheapo iPad is dreadful.
Tbh I would go into the Apple store and play with cameras on both so you don’t end up with any surprises, the giant screen on the iPad makes the failing of the camera very apparent.
I don't think you can go into Apple stores anymore. The entire entrance is blocked off now for pickup and service.
I thought you could make appointments?
I guess Best Buy sells iPads?
Also always an option, but one of each take them home to test and return the pro if the air camera is good enough. Apple has a fantastic return policy.
Went yesterday to get a charging block at market and yeah they arent letting you in to buy something, has to be ordered online. Apple sure knows how to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy when you pay 1700 for a phone, wife had to go buy a block to use with the charging cord they gave her.
I think the new cable is USB C, power blocks for it are admittedly a fair bit more rare than the usb blocks most people have lying around.

Not elegant but it help the environment by not buying another brick from Apple that they refuse to include.
Yes, this is what I was saying. But the car wouldn't actually connect to the phone tho. It would just sitting with the spinning gadget trying to link to the phone.
We tried all the resets and restarts and still got nothing. Everything on her car's infotainment has been deleted under the tab 'connected devices' and it's searching to pair. Her phone is discoverable.
I went to Settings>Her name (iCloud account) and found her old iPhone X. Tapped on that and then "Remove from account".
Success!! Car and phone paired no problem after that. She'll try her headphones tomorrow.
Kind of strange tho. I didn't have to do anything like this when I got my new 12.
