So if j&j/AZ are only causing blood clots in women under 50, can we fast forward those vaccines for men under 50 or is that sexist in Canada?
There are some women who identify as a man, so do they get brushed aside?
I'd almost halt everything and debate it for months, start a gov't speciality panel and figure it out.
Got my first shot today at the conference center. The line was huge but moved quick. Lots of people in their 20's to 50's, not many older people.
Smooth, safe experience.
I have an appointment on Friday at a pharmacy, I feel guilty about getting it however compared to a lot of the industries who are not eligible yet
I foresee a huge oversupply of vaccines at some point. They should keep the supply available for 3 months after, and then start charging people who enter ICU a $5000 fine if they get Covid. They would have zero excuse to tie up the health care system other than being an anti-vaxxing POS.
You getting your shot helps me, and helps everyone. If you can get your shot, I urge you to get it as a personal favor to me.
A good friend of mine is a Respirologist at South Health. Said the number of Covid patients has increased like crazy in the last few weeks and that almost everyone in there is between the age of 20-50. Very few currently admitted over the age of 60.
Don't feel guilty getting your shot.
I'm relieved, I have a number of conditions that make me 2B eligible. As sole breadwinner (wife had to shut down her business for the pandemic) the pressure is off a little.
Mentally, it's a mixed bag for me. It's a bit of a milestone and kind of makes the recovery more real in my mind, but there is a bit of survivors guilt (I lost a friend to Covid in Nov).

1 million in Alberta got, or 18.1% having at least one shot. Numbers going up quickly, summer may be saved.
I thought this was an interesting article to put the risk of blood clotting from J&J or AZ into perspective.
TL;DR
The risk of developing a vaccine induced blood clot (vaccine induced thrombocytopenia) from AZ or J&J for people with low platelet count is 1 in 250,000
The risk of developing a "regular" blood clot if you end up being hospitalized with COVID-19 is 1 in 5
The risk of developing any sort of blood clot in your life if you are a woman between the age of 15 and 45 is 1 in 3,300
That risk is increased to 1 in 1,600 if they are on birth control.
If a woman is pregnant she has a 1 in 300 chance of developing a blood clot at some point in the pregnancy.
A user a few pages back described the different mechanisms of clotting but as a high level risk assessment of clots in general I think these numbers speak pretty loudly.
