sled dogs in Alaska/Yukon still get whipped on a daily basis in the winter - maybe send the karens up there too?
horses also get slapped in the rear by the jockeys.
This is a working dog that requires strict obedience. Could the kick have been less forceful? sure. Did it injure the animal? no
Agreed. The last PMC I worked for moved into training/supplying military working dogs, I've worked around a lot of GS and Belgian breeds, and that little lovetap from the boot of that officer is absolutely NOTHING compared to what these dogs go through both in training, and while deployed as a military(police) working dog.
The public is so ridiculous now, trying to shame or cancel anything that offends their little sensibilities. FFS it's an active firearms/weapons call, and you're worried about the pooch getting a little tap with a boot? Unreal.
Watch, the SPCA and PETA will be involved in this BS next.
I’ve worked with plenty of humans that need more that this to get their full attention.
At least we can all agree that a dog is property so this is equivalent to someone slamming thier car door. Right?
Man, from what I know, these handlers love their K9 partners too.
Society is just full of weak crybabies that latch on to the teat that is a 5-second video lol.
If people dont like that, they're REALLY gonna hate my peanut butter trick.
What kind of clearly indoor, vegan cafe was this dog in when it got kicked?
What kind of companion animal will this dog select in order to get through this traumatic ordeal?
Wow man, are you one of these younger beyond members who don't remember this? It was so awesome when it went viral, in fact I think it was one of the first things to go viral during the beginning days of the internet. A classic indeed...can totally see how this would be offensive today though lol
I'm a dog guy, and this simply isn't a big deal. The situation was tense and the dog needed to settle. My dog is stubborn sometimes as well, and once in a while a bit of a boot wakes him up. Now, I rarely kick him as hard as the cop did, but it'll be just fine.
As others have said as did my wife when discussing this tonight, as a trained professional dog I imagine that shouldn't have to be necessary.
I don't know if anyone has offered this yet but, WHO CARES?
I heard from a hare that a squirrel was traumatized.
I heard the officers name was Kerpal.
