Curious to know who is getting the vaccine?
I plan on getting it, along with my family.
Watching the news right now, the first doses of the Pfizer vaccine have arrived in Canada.
I hope they make it a law that you must have the vaccine in order to travel.
If anything, I imagine it could (COULD) be a requirement for visitors to get it, in the same way that other countries could probably require it from visitors, but not it's own citizens. That way, it's not technically mandatory unless you choose to travel. I base this on nothing other than thinking about having a choice. I don't think I'm a fan of mandatory vaccinations. Having said that, if it means I get to see my parents without risking their health, I would get it (assuming that the vulnerable and those who are high exposure already get it).
Absolutely my family and I will get it. I am not super keen on it being rushed and limited test data, but it will be tested on old people before most of us get to see it. If they can do fine with it, my wife and I will get sticked. (Might be mandatory for my wife in health care, and she will get it before the rest of us do).
Curious as to the reasons why the 25% (currently) are not interested....
Nothing to be brave about. it's practically 50/50 in the population as far as people who want this and people who don't. I've never been one to go getting shit jammed into me that I don't need. This shot will get filed with flu shots, just another thing I don't need.
If the government does decide to completely violate your personal health freedoms and make this mandatory, and I can't manage to get some black market proof of vaccination card, then I'll probably go get this. But it's pretty unlikely for any government to do something so politically polarizing.
I legit feel bad for some people.
I'll get it, they've done a significant amount of testing on these vaccines in the past year so I have a fair bit of faith in their safety. The Moderna one for example tested doses as high as 250ug for safety but the actual approved doses are only 100ug. With 30k trial participants and no notable adverse reactions and me having a pretty average life I don't see any reason to be worried about it.
The only people I feel bad for are the children of certain people. They are unfortunately stuck with their parents lack of intelligence.
The vaccine is going to prove useless (atleast for its purported purpose) ... Whether by covid mutating, not enough people getting dosed, or the fact you'll still be able to carry and spread the virus after a shot. I also see australia has pulled 50+ mil doses due to it setting off positive HIV tests.. Yeah sure, I'm gonna rush right out for this nonsense.
A vaccine never before developed, which they thought could take years, is suddenly rushed ahead and is ready on each side of the world at the exact same time, australia has their own, the russians, pfhizer.. etc All ready at the exact same time, despite being developed independently.. Suuuure, seems logical. All for a virus I have almost certainty of getting over in a couple of days, if I even notice I have it.
I don't anticipate I will even get an option before August 2021. However yes I will take the vaccine, and once they have the kids version, my kids will take it as well.
Y'all are dreaming. Vaccine will be totally optional.
