also with saneal, if you decide to return an item they will not refund you and instead will be put in as credit for a future purchase.

Yeah I forgot about that too. Terrible store to buy from compared to the other options in town, especially when the other ones will match their prices anyway. There is literally no reason to shop there over TCS or online retailers.Quote:

OK, I stand corrected. Great info to know, thanks!
Vistek Downtown wouldn't let me return an item less than 10 minutes after I purchased it.
Reason for return: Salesman sold me an item that was not compatible with my camera without purchasing more adapters. Item was recommended by the salesperson at the store knowing all details. When I went back to see him after testing it outside, he was surprised that it didn't work as suggested.
Reason for not accepting the return (by manager and salesman): Item has been opened. Not in original packaging. (Box was opened carefully, as I like to keep my packaging. Only thing ripped was the shrink wrap).
Remedy: 10% discount on the adapter that was required to make this setup work.
Will never purchase from that store again, nor recommend to anyone.
On the other hand, The Camera Store has been superb. Great folks and honest advice. I have gone out of my way to purchase from them because I want to support their business model.
I'm still a TCS fanboy. I avoid Vistek whenever possible and would rather punch myself in the dick than give my money to Saneal.
I'm less of a TCS fanboy since Chris T left, but they're by far the best camera retailer in Calgary and probably Canada.
Saneal gives me a "greasy used car lot" vibe and none of Vistek's employees seem to care about their job.
If something isn't available at TCS, it's usually available on Amazon or B&H.
I haven't had to purchase from anyone else in a long time.
Came across this on Kijiji

Anyone been to this in the past? Is it actually a good sale?
Never been to one either but I am curious to how good the deals are, or if it's like many "blowout" sales that have a bunch of stuff nobody wants for small discounts.
I was at TCS this week and they told me they will likely be using some parking lot space for it.
Unfortunately I'm at a wedding all day that day and won't even be able to check it out
Fuji has a promotion going, buy a X-T1, X-E1, or X-Pro1 and get a free 18mm f2 by mail in rebate (they send you the lens directly). They cost $550 new, but only have a resale of about US$300 online. Still a good deal!
I'd buy one, but I know I wouldn't use it.
yeah that XF 18mm 2 is a slow lens compared to the 23, 35 and 56 lens, I would rather use the GR haha.
i wouldn't mind buying another X100 or X100s though if Fuji releases the 'Classic Chrome' film simulation.
The X100T looks like a worthy upgrade. High speed sync with a leaf shutter or a 1/32,000 electronic shutter. The Picture in picture focus looks sweet too.
yup, some very nice upgrades for sure, Fuji just keeps on improving this cameraQuote:

better AF and MF capabilities, fully customizable buttons, bigger OVF, improved battery life
picture in picture a really nice feature for those that want to MF.
but personally, after using the X100 and X100s, I like using center AF and would only use MF to pre-set at 7ft.
reading Zack Arias hands-on review, it looks like the hotshoe will not fire when in electronic shutter mode (past 1/4000 shutter speed)
TCS is having a 1-day sale on Saturday. It's also my birthday, so I'll be there begging for even greater deals.

lol, are you back in town?
What time are they opening, need to pick-up some printing/darkroom materials
I'm going to try to show up @ 9, why the hell not.
Yeah, I think I'll pop by in the morning. I'll be there buying a D800 at bargain prices.
After Matt buys a D810
Joking aside, I don't really need or want anything but I'll have a look around. Trev, they're selling used gear. Think you might be able to find a 45mm Bronica lens? Hahaha
Any go this morning? worth the drive?
Cheapest I've seen it since it's been out.....pull the pin or wait a little longer?

No real deals on modern stuff, but if you'll looking for random accessories there's some good deals to be had.
