Public mobile has a promo for free 1gb data bucket (doesn't expire) if anyone is with them. Also free long distance minutes
Quote:
From December 4th (9am eastern) to December 25th, 2019 (11:59pm eastern), new and existing Public Mobile customers are eligible to receive 2 free add-on packages free of charge.
One add-on will be for international long distance minutes (400), while the other will be a data-add on (1GB).
New customers can add the free add-ons during the activation process, while existing customers will need to add them from within their self serve accounts. These add-ons are a one-time thing.
The add-ons do not expire until all usage included in them has been used up, and as long as the Public Mobile account remains open
Public Mobile is awesome. They are currently doing some "free international calling add-on" promotion as well. I haven't read that fine print, but could be pretty good for someone who does a lot of long distance.
Thanks! Just added the Holiday Bonus 1GB :clap:Quote:

You should add the international long distance one too, it's also free in the same place. I'm adding that to my wifes account right now.
Some of you must call the Philippines, China or India right? 400 free minutes seems nice.Quote:

But I haven't really seen any great deals either moving to another provider or staying with Telus that's cheaper/better than my current plan. Any thoughts/ideas?
My wife's business plan, which I am on, ends on the 21st, and with final papers and finals coming up, I won't have time to look into plans until the 20th. We're with Rogers and have had no issue other than getting ripped off. lol My wife really doesn't like Telus due to past experience with billing issues but I don't think she would necessarily rule them out if the deal was good enough. Obviously, for business purposes, she needs good, reliable coverage.
This is a way better deal than what they're giving us now (at least in part because we purchased our phones two years ago): https://www.rogers.com/business/wire...rbwrls-0511195
What is a good deal these days (we'll renew with our existing phones and we only need a few GB of data)?
If you don't need a phone, how's $35/mo sound?

As said, Public Mobile. I'm just waiting to see what their boxing day deal will be before I switch over. Like many others, I don't need 4G/LTE.
That's pretty good except that we're at 1GB now and we've bumped up against it a couple of times. The $40 plan would work though.
And this is just pay-as-you-go? How is the coverage? I'm skeptical of these small companies to deliver as well as the larger ones but I hate the larger ones. I'm not sure if the 3G limit would be an issue but we don't stream anything. My wife will occasionally need web access when she's at a client's place but, again, no streaming.
Add some fuel to the fire.
I just signed up with Verizon last week.
$80 / month
- unlimited data ( 5G where available, premium 4G for 50GB, normal 4G after that )
- unlimited calls, Lind distance and texts
- Canada free calling out
- free Apple Music
- free Disney+
Fml in Canada
It's 2.5 gb, and coverage is exactly like Telus, as that's who runs this. Yes, prepaid. Zero overage charges because you cannot go over.
There's also a bonus 1gb/mo for new activations before Dec 8th. I think that's stackable, so you'd be 3.5gb/mo for $35.
I love it.
Anybody have a spare freedom mobile friends and family code? I’m looking to sign up to their boxing week promo plan.
Thx
Rogers "win back" team is offering 15 gb for $50/month, iPhone XR for $25/month, $0 down and $300 credit
