HELP!! Compustar alarm keeps going off

So last night at around 1 am my alarm went off. So i get out of bed and look out my window and no one was there so i disarmed my alarm and relocked the car. Then at 1:30 am the car goes off again so this time i go outside and check it out and nothing out of the ordinary soi go back into sleep.

Then later on around 12pm in the afternoon i start my car with the car starter and after about 1 minute the car shuts off and the alarm goes off. So i turn it off and then 2 minutes later the car alarm goes off again. So at this point i was pretty frustrated and just left my car unlocked. Someone help me please!!

Some people will fuck with your alarm just to make you turn it off out of frustration. Sounds like a bad install though, take it back.

For a temporary fix you could put it into valet mode(sleepmode) so you could still lock it and not worry about the alarm going off until you bring it to get fixed.

Here's one I see all the time (including my car): the trunk switch is defective, or the light is out in your trunk. Most of the time, the best way to link to the trunk being open or not is to tie into the light. If the bulb's out, it can give a false positive. Likewise if the trunk light switch isn't closing properly, the same thing can happen.

If you have the 2-way, check and see what's causing it to go off.

Hmm thanks for the help. The alarm kinda stopped now i don't know why but now when i start my car with the remote it like just shuts off and doesn't stay on and then turns on again and shuts the car off again. Yeah my taillight one of them is burnt out but i just fixed it. Hopefully won't keep going off tonight! Thanks for the tip Darkstar13.

That tells me that the brain is dead. You'll have to take it to a compustar installer and get a new one put in. Should be under warranty.

i would have to agree with with 97 scort about the main brain being dead

same thing happened to my mum's old camry...it was going off random time and finally got it checked and it was the main brain..it was fried!!!

actaully iuno the car is fine now... its weird i think its cause i left the light inside on or something thats why it went all crazy and such?

well i guess you can see how it goes for a few weeks ...but if it does act up, then i would suggest you to get it checked...better to find out now then piss in your pants later

the one reason why your car starts and shuts off..
maybe your tach wire is not connected properly.

the remote starter will start the car and your car will send a signal from etheir the alternator or distributor. when the compustar module sees the signal it knows the car is on. when it doesn't the module will think that the vehicle didn't start properly and shut the car off and retry. after few tries it gives up.

check the tach wire and try to do the tach learning again

WOW so my car is at it again... woke me up at 2:25 in the morning... i have no clue why it keeps going off and off i tried to pushing buttons and now my car is in valet mode and everytime i enable the alarm 20 minutes later it goes off.. if i hold l + ll will it just mute it so the car will STFU? i should relaly get this checked outt anyone know some good shops?
