Honda CBR500 - Key lock/ignition barrel messed up

Hey team,

Sry if this is in the wrong section, but my bike's key lock barrel is fcked. I had trouble pushing my key in, and I've tried different things. I've tried graphite lube, my spare key, a new key, but the key is just not able to push all the way down, and unlock the handlebars.

This leads me to believe that the barrel itself is fucked and I need to get it fixed.

Problem is, I'm not sure how something like this can get fixed. Is it do-able at home or will I need to take to a dealership?

My other issue is the fact that the bike is parked underground and. well I have no way of moving it out. Plus the handle bars are locked too.

Please share your advice on how to deal with this.

P.S I am the original owner of the bike, and have the key tag (with #) for the keys.

If you've got AMA your membership does include locksmith services.

But yeah - you need a locksmith... They're often mobile :)

Most of the time these things are just bolted in.

If your mechanically inclined you could take a look and see if you could get it unbolted.

AMA could help with fixing a lock like this though?

I know they usually unlock a car for you, but I'm not sure about this kind of service if the key is not going in.
