How do I fix my deck?
So my deck got a bit of rot in the stairs so I ripped out all the rotting bits and replaced over the weekend, I took the skirting off and had a look under and discovered that not only is the deck actually attached to the wooden footing posts but the footing isn’t even attached to the concrete posts intact the one nearest to me looks like it’s slipping off the post. The photos below should show what I mean.

Dig it out more, no way you can tell what it’s doing on that footing at this point. Might be a deck block. Very confused with how the post is connected to the beam.

Yeah I think the issue is there is no connection between the post and beam. Shore it up with a temporary beam. You can rent aluminum beams for this purpose along with screw jacks for raising the deck up. Or you can raise it up with wedges or a jack and temporarily support a beam on cinder blocks. Get a proper connection, something like this: https://www.strongtie.com/sdsscrewco...wcc/p/ccq.eccq
