I'd be interested.
It's as though Jeep really does not care to sell more vehicles, this truck ought to have been out a decade ago. How difficult is it to add a box? Better come in some bright colours or colour me sad.
The box has been around for a decade now... J8 has been around as a midsized military offering since the wrangler came into being. With a diesel too...
They should do the FC cabover on a 4500/5500 chassis next ;)
Could make for an awesome camper solution
It would be difficult for me to pull the trigger on a Jeep Wrangler body due to the unsafe crash test results and good old Jeep build quality. Love the looks though.
Definitely a distant cousin of the old Comanche.
True story - in 1997ish I walked onto the lot at Eastside Dodge and told the used car guy I was looking for a Jeep Comanche. He looked at me and asked what that was, I told him a small pick up. He told me I was wrong and that Jeep had never, ever built a truck. FFS, it had only been out of production for five or six years by that point. Stupid car salesmen.
As a city vehicle, that thing is hideous. As a utility vehicle for work/offroad etc, it has some great potential.
Get ready to see those all over the place... everywhere except off road. I swear 90% of jeep owners are girls that drive them between home-work-mall.
Wranglers are the worst highway vehicles... never again
Im a huge fan of modded jeeps and what people are doing to them is beyond sick. This looks weird stock but like others i see huge potential for this.
they look great, but are very much mall cruisers and putting on huge E rated tires (more than often a mud terrain) with whatever lift (skyjacker) on such a short wheel based vehicle with solid axles make them IMO somewhat dangerousQuote:

I love them as offroaders, but would prefer to build up a yj/tj to the modern truck and am disappointed that the modern jeep isn't really any better performing and in fact wasn't the most reliable until the last couple of years
I'm saying that they aren't any safer than a YJ from the 80's
Thinking about it.. if this truck is fitted with a proper truck like transmission and beefed up to compete against the quarter ton trucks like the Canyon and Taco... yet can perform off-road tasks at the same level as the current Wrangler... I'd give it thumbs up.
But it should be able to payload better than 1200lbs and tow at least 5500
Now put a diesel in it and I'll buy one.
People are mentioning this harkens back to the old Comanche but it kind of reminds me more of a 4 door Scrambler. Not my cup of tea but I can see its appeal. :burnout:
It's cute. Maybe get one for my wife since she can't drive a truck.
i don't understand jeeps fetish with those tail lights with the x shaped reverse light in the middle, they look completely ridiculous on any vehicle.
Add a Slight lift and better tires....I think I'll be lining up to get one.
More affordable than the AEv conversion, that's for sure and almost looks the same.
