I get the impression that you and your like think that "all" US soldiers are murderers, much like the suicide bombers who kill dozens EVERY DAY!. Yet when its a US soldier its front line news and its the typical anti US propoganda machine that goes into full effect to make the most out of the situation to further anti US feelings in the middle east and around the world. This type of stuff is not unique to US soldiers or to this war.

But a few bad apples does not represent the whole US forces.. especially considering there are over a hundred thousand in Iraq right now. Also those responsible will be prosocuted for thier actions as they should be.
Meanwhile these so called "insurgents" run free causing death and mayhem on a daily basis...
Do you see Arabs in streets chanting "death to the insurgents".. no.. instead isolated incidents like this are elevated to whip up a frenzy of anti US feelings and keep the hate for Americans and coalition forces levels high. Even though these incidents are brought out to the public and those repsonsible are punished.

No matter how strongly I believe that the US military should not be in Iraq the Marines should not be painted the same as the few that have commited this attrocity. The Marines in general are trying to do the job they signed up for. These particular Marines, should it be proven they are guilty of these attrocities are no longer Marines, they are as criminal and cowardly as the terrorists and deserve the same fate as any terrorist.
Might just as well put them in Guantanamo Bay with the "suspected" illegal noncombatants and let them all sort it out amongst themselves.

The problem is the recruiting strategy of the US military. So many of the soldiers are 18-19 year olds that dont have a lot of opportunity in life and use it as a secure way of making money and getting school paid for. Its very uncommon for the upper class or even the upper middle class to enlist. So most of what is out there is bottom of the barrel, underprivileged kids.
I know one guy that is out there right now and some of the stuff I hear is pretty sick. They seriously name their companies things like, "gravediggaz", "HeadHunters", etc. Those were literally the squad names. They blast mallgoth metal music in their vehicles and talk about how they cant wait to blow shit up. Theyre nothing more than a bunch of kids that think theyre playing counterstrike on the internet. He's said theres nothing like hearing someone come up the stairs with a grenade in your hand ready to turn a body into a fine pink mist.
In this case, someones friend got killed and they had a temper tantrum and went to show those iraqis who is boss.
