when buying a car from a private seller, there is no way to get any warranty, correct? Like taking it to a dealer, having them pass inspection, and have them supply a warranty?

If the private seller's vehicle still has warranty from the dealership, then the car will have warranty.

So True!
There are aftermarket warrenties available, but they are loaded with fine print and are almost a sure shot at loosing money... Get your inspection done, do your homework on how that specific vehicle holds up and find out it's bad points... Based on a good inspection go from there...
