It was never out ha!
Everything is cyclical and it comes/goes but the basic focus is on fit, fit, fit. Not too tight nor too baggy, and you're halfway there.
All the other stuff is up to you. I'm still learning myself.
For me: I try to do contrasts between top/bottom, 2 diff patterns at most and no two of the same (i.e. striped shirt with a striped tie), mid to high-rise pants, and no pant breaks. I'm not into cuffs but some people like em.
I don't do bold colors on blazers/shirts, and try to keep a color scheme so I don't have too many pieces of clothing.
For people who hate shopping: know your measurements, befriend a tailor, GTFO of the store asap
EDIT: Takes a while to befriend a good alteration person/tailor so play around with shirts/pants/blazers that you can walk away from. It took me many pairs (and brands) of pants/denim to find the right fit to hide my knock knees, while not constricting my thighs
Bump.
My tailor is no longer in that profession so looking to get a blazer sleeve shortened. Any recommendations from folks?
Mine is semi retired and only does work for a few people now. I'm going to be REALLY sad when he retires for real
If you're in the south, Henry does some really good work. I've had a couple of things altered by him. He also does bespoke work. There are 2 locations. As far as I know, his wife runs the one in Marda Loop and brings all the tailoring to him in at Heritage. https://www.henrythetailor.com/
I heard people stopped wearing nice clothes downtown unless you are in law.

What building? Is it full of bankers?
I know in O&G the vast majority are now wearing jeans and a golf shirt most days.
Guess I missed these 4+ years ago. Haha.
But yes, no wigs in Canadian courts, that's a UK thing.
We do wear robes though (much like that photo), which I call the batman outfit. However, only on matters in which evidence is being adduced in superior court or it is an appeal hearing (King's Bench).
Provincial court (now called the Court of Justice) you never robe up. Then Court's higher than KB, i.e., Court of Appeal and SCC - always robes regardless of the matter.
I wish we had wigs, wouldn't have to fuckin waste 10 mins fixing hair in the morning's. lol.
WFH has definitely changed the way people dress at my work. Ball caps, hoodies, sweat pants, logo t-shirts tucked into jeans. I'm going to wear a bathrobe tomorrow, I haven't decided if I'll tie it shut yet.
These days you are likely to get made fun of for dressing professionally for an interview lol
