Looks is the only thing the Gladiator has going for it. Wait until you price one out

Gladiator pricing makes a compelling value argument for the half ton segment.
You know the ranger literally has a focus RS engine in it, right? Yeah XLT is barebones inside and I found the lariat well worth the premium but the drivetrain is the same in both, same 10sp trans as the F150, and 5 star has put out some tunes with very impressive results, easily the fastest (and most aftermarket potential) out of the lot. That single, progressive spring also makes for some decent road manners too, no solid axle jitter or anything on expansion joints. Also sips fuel and the economy “wall” for km/h is higher than the f150... did 30km/h across the country with aggressive single lane passes and still managed to average under 12L/100kms...
Hrm... let’s see... drove a 3.5L eco boost across the country as well... had to fill up by Moose Jaw, same as ranger... difference being 70L tank vs 130L tank... myth busted? Yes
Check payload sticker thread... my fully loaded (worst possible Payload truck) is ~150lbs off from a glass roofed F150 equivalent... omg... much sacrifice
Towing? Ya got me there... almost like it’s smaller or something... only 7500lbs
Sorry i offended you..
Notice how I said usually? The tacomas of the world are hot garbage on fuel. Hell, i've gotten as low as 9.5L/100 in my truck, the same route a lot of the smaller trucks got 11+.
You're right. It is a smaller truck... But it costs the same..
I had a ridgeline - which I refer to as my gateway truck. You'll either decide you don't need a truck and go back to an SUV, or graduate to a bigger truck when you need more capability.
On my 2nd F150 now. I find the F150 easier to park and drive, and my wife does also. The ridgeline visibility (1st gen) was horrible and the camera / sensor tech in the F150 makes it idiot proof.
Looked at the new ridgeline, but was not going to spend that much for something so much less capable. Believe the fuel econ on my F150 is also better.
Also looked at the Taco - and by the time I got the long bed I was almost at full size truck length anyways.
Chevrolet HHR.

Dropped the truck off to fix the bear ding... got this as a rental, pros: heated steering wheel cons:the rest... awful, from the shapes and materials of everything inside, to the comfort of the arm rests/door... to the ride quality and even the gas pedal... fucking awful

But you have that little bumper step thing. Don't forget about that
