This is the entire business model of the airlines right now. Massive changes, but not technically a "cancellation" so they don't offer real refunds. I would not want to book a vacation while this tom-fuckery is so rampant.

United rescheduled my flight to Buenos Aires by a day but it also said in the email I was eligible for a refund. Clicked the cancel link and no fuse, no talking or emailing. Just said cancellation submitted and 48 hours later I had a full refund on my CC.
Fucking Canadian airlines suck.

Question is what happen if you are tested positive before boarding return flight.
Kauai opted out of pre-travel testing, visitors required to quarantine for 14 days again.

Got my AirBnB refund for Maui in January, thank God.
Was it difficult to get?
Our first and only AirBnB refund request was this year in September when we had to cancel a stay due to the Washington forest fires. We inquired about a possible refund (offering to eat 50% of the cost as well as to not screw over the host), and the host lied to AirBnB and said there were no fires and the air quality was fine, which ended up being the reason we got a full refund haha.
I had to give them proof that it was due to COVID. So I sent them screen shot from the government of Canada website stating non-essential travel is not recommended. I also wrote that we do not have Hawaii approved testing for COVID.

Can you imagine booking and then seeing this.
Best to wait for vaccine.
Coming back to Alberta for Christmas.. does that make me a bad person?
FWIW I won't be around many people / in the mountains. Flight from Toronto was $200 return (tax in), two days before Christmas. :nut:
TIL there are users adamc and adam c.
We had a minor fight about it back in the day when I was living in Calgary and posting a lot - and he wasn't.
Now, I mostly lurk and he posts a lot.
I believe his account predates mine by a small amount.
You get test results within 72hrs of leaving and get to skip quarantine. There's a voluntary test you can get there, within 72 hours as well. Same on the way back. Info was posted in the travel thread on the 1st I think.
