Does the cost to build this factor in the high inflation expected for the next couple of years?
Well thr good news is there will be lots of parking at the saddle dome for the foreseeable future
Davidson would of had this built already.
Ha I’m wrong. It’s solar panels
Damn you climate change*!
*Gondek
we can do river dance in the empty lot. that's fun.
I maintain, Gondek was a damned fool about this. CSEC was obligated to build it and the city decided to get cute and pile on and has given them a legit legal out from the contract. Its absolutely hilarious.
This is the kind of stuff people get fired over. Well, people in the private sector.

They mention it here that part of the $4mm is for solar cells, not sure what portion it is though. I never supported the arena in the first place but Gondek and the city are being absolute idiots about this. Blaming CSEC for not picking up an extra "1.5%" where the city has introduced an extra $14mm after the renegotiation in July is ridiculous. If I was CSEC who I'm not supportive of, I would walk as well and let the city clean up the mess.
This deal is just about as bad as selling your house and the buyer then requests you clean the furnace, carpets and might as well tack on his moving company costs too.
Unless the sport is related to biking around the city.
Council doesn't like it.
It's like what's your lowest price approach from kijiji buyers and then they knock it down more in person. For the record I make no racial reference here.
Scope creep is awesome when you think your partner will pay 100% of the new costs. But if your partner refuses, well, that's grounds for termination of the agreement. Happens all the time in business, and this is just business.
Why can’t we have nice things. Rogers place in Edmonton is so fkn nice but fk Edmonton.
oh I'm sure we'll have a lot of nice things that don't help anybody.
This is great news. I'm glad both parties agreed to not build an albatross with public money and they're just trying to PR the exit.
