Rally for Race City
Calgary, AB (September 26, 2009) - Today will be the continuation of the Motorsports Community, public awareness campaign on the perils of the forced premature closure of Race City Motorsports Park. A car rally will be held today, September 26, 2009 at 5:30 PM starting from the Home Depot parking lot at 6500 Macleod Trail SW and proceeding north to Downtown Calgary. This is not the first rally in support of Race City but it is expected to be the largest held to date.
The forced premature closure of Race City Motorsports Park will no doubt result in increased Illegal Street Racing activity along with the other unlawful activities that are associated with it. The “Secret Street” program held at Race City Motorsports Park every Friday night, gives 175+ potential street racers and 600+ of their friends the opportunity to enjoy their sub culture in a safe and organized way without the ramification of racing on City public streets.
