a friend of mine was walking by minutes after it happened and apparently she jumped out in front of the train, this was what was told to her by an eye witness.
who jumps in front of a train ??
^emo's.....hehe....
The girl was attempting suicide. Paramedics on the scene quoted the girl saying "I couldn't even do this right" as she was rescued.
coulda been a suicide attempt. its actually pretty common, but usually they do it in front of real trains, not ctrains...
I was on the amtrak to vancouver on christmas eve and they had to stop the train for a few hours because someone jumped in front of it. I feel for them, but thats kind of an asshole way to do it.

if you are going to kill yourself, do it in your own house
I can't even imagine why you'd want to jump in front of a train to kill yourself. It must be scary enough, without facing the chance that instead of being dead you'll be horribly crippled instead.
Although I think some people do it that way so they can make an impression on peoples lives.
Very sad
Or...learn how to deal with life and don't be so damn selfish!Quote:

I don't want to start a debate (or insult you personally if you can believe it haha), but that statement smacks of ignorance. I'd say those that make statements like that haven't personally dealt with mental illness or with someone suffering from it. There's a whole hell of a lot more to making a decision like that than selfishness.Quote:

I hear ya JRS! No debate needed. Yes I have been down those roads with friends. I have lost friends to suicide, and have had my share of unfortunate times in my life where I thought that not being around would be easier. (mid to late teens)Quote:

Perhaps I came off strong. Mental troubles are not easy to deal with and can be QUITE complicating and uncomfortable to say the least. My last GF had and still has alot of mental troubles. It caused unfortunate damage to the relationship ultimately destroying it.
Suicide is a selfish thing to do whether the person commiting it realizes it or not. Sometimes yes things get so bad for them it feels like the only thing to do. It is still an act that leaves everybody involved in their lives to deal with not only their loss, but their troubles as well.
Not once did I mean to insult or hurt anyone with my comment. (MADDOG etc) Unfortunately it is a shitty situation on all angles.
It is just tough getting these people the right help or even knowing when to get it to them.
Again, all apologies to anyone offended by my instant rebuttle and choice of words.
you gotta feel sorry the train operator...he/she is probably scarred for life.
No worries, I know you weren't trying to be a jerk or anything. :)Quote:

that sucks.. i wish people like that could just ask for help.. because it is readily available from friends, family and strangers...
fuck that sucks..
Sometimes its just strangers who are willing to help tho :dunno: cant really comment if we dont know the situation. Chances are her family and friends would help her though...Quote:

committing suicide by running in front of a train is a messy way to go :barf:
