time for a new engine.
yes, u need to do a head and ecu swap. sounds simple, but it really isnt.
what car do you have?
If you have a D16a6 or a D15, you can do a "mini-me" swap. This involves swaping the heads of those engines with a D16Z6 Vtec head. Try searching it on the net, and you will find a huge amount of info on this. From what i have heard there are some timing and distributer mounting issues regarding this swap. I think it would be easier just to swap in a D16Z6 then have to fuck around with the head swap.
playboy,
What type of car/engine do you have now?
yes it is possible,
but what it takes all depends on what you have now.
Alright first of all i am new at all this but i have a 1995 acura integra non v-tec...but i want the v-tec engine is it easier to buy a whole new engine with the v-tec or do a head swap and all that bullshit???
MrPlayboy
1995 Integra has a B18B. Get a VTEC head, the oil fittings, ECU, and you have yourself a LS/VTEC. Probably cheaper than dropping in a GSR motor, they're still kinda expensive.
Less you wanted to drop an H22 for $2600 for the swap minus axles, mounts and shift linkage .. I'm not sure about tegra swaps .. www.jdmsource.ca , located in Calgary.
But I definately would recommend the ls vtec route .. bang for buck is probably your best bet.
just turbo the Ls motor, if u want vtec that badly look into a b18c (gsr) or even an h22 :D
