I recall seeing somewhere that a lot of policies will not approve of a teen (from a different address) borrowing your car, i think it was anybody under 21... but then i talked to a friend who is a VERY NEW broker and she says it's fine, there's typically nothing age restricting like that in the policy....
Anybody know the truth?
For a one-off scenario you can lend your vehicle to anyone with a valid driver's licence assuming they don't live in the same house as you. Keep in mind though that if they smash up the car it can impact your insurance for up to 10 years. If however this is a semi-regular thing like your cousin that lives a block away and drives the car once a week, well that's a different story. I suggest you chat with your broker to get the off-the-record insight into your particular situation.Quote:
