When's the last time you were at the Stampede?

I'm curious how often or when the last time was when you went down to the grounds when the Calgary Stampede is on. For myself and my wife, it has to be at least 11 years since we've attended the Stampede in any way and quite possibly 12 years. Once our eldest was old enough (in our opinion) to look after her then we stopped going. Daughter would've been 9 or 10 and the eldest would've been 15 or 16, middle kid would've been 13 or 14. We'd drive them down and then pick them up later that night.

This year I was contemplating going down on Saturday but I just seem to be able to find other things that'll keep me busy, rotate my tires, fix a couple of slow leaking tires, make a new ferret enclosure and other stuff.

I usually go every year. I really like the rodeo, and I hit Nashville North a couple times. Usually a few work/business things every year too.
Skipped this year to take a big camping trip with the kids. Probably attend next year.

I dunno. 3 days?

To each their own I guess. I mean you can have whatever kind of fun you want to have down there.

In some ways I swear Vegas is tamer than stampede

They got rid of my fav beer garden i heard. Im not really sure where it was exactly, i think the south entrance? That's how good it was. Place was fuckin narnia.

Best parts of stampede weren't even AT stampede. Big guns breakfast, doggie doo rodeo, bull bustin, and back in the day, BJ breakfast and those events at the barley mill.

Im old. Im so done with large crowds on a sweltering hot day listening to way too loud music I despise, fawning over something dumb like deep fried cancer on a stick...... did I mention I was old? lol

(I have never cared for the event, even 15 years ago when I first came here)

Had a job interview in the infield seats on the rodeo once. Had some kind of VIP transport right to our seats from a bar downtown. Constant stream of double vodkas, and nobody woukd talk business until I was fully plastered. Guess I'm a personable drunk because I got that job. Ahhh, the oil patch used to be great......

Born and raised, I go about every fourth year to check out the fireworks.

What the fuck? Was that a normal post from ZenOPs?

I hate crowds and people... overpriced food... don't enjoy rides...

I went once like 7 years ago and never will again.

Real Stampede.

You couldn’t even get a drink at big guns this year they were so underprepared. I don’t think they even held doggie doo this year either.

Doggie do didn’t happen this year as far as I was told. Also big guns was hilariously terrible so bad I’m shocked if it happens next year under the same name.

Bull bustin still best event of stampede IMO.

Event host was taking 50% of tips so barely any of the staff showed up.

Sad state of affairs for sure
