Travel in and around Alberta (mainly for snowboarding)

Got a friend who is coming to Calgary in February and hes a massive snowboarder. I don't know many places so I'm going to need some advice on to tell him where to go or give him the link to this thread.
He also wants to check out some tourist attractions, he snot too bothered about Calgary he was here about 5+ years ago and I doubt much has changed.

So far he is definitely going to Lake Loise, Banff, I've mentioned Jasper to him, and there were a few more he named. If he goes up that way I also told him to check out West Ed.

Where else should he go for snowboarding? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I was just in jasper for the weekend, what do they have there, the only one I seen was marmot, I drove up there (even though the road was "closed", whoops...) They have the building all gutted it looked like, but there were a few construction guys around.. So they must be trying to get it in shape by winter...

kicking horse is in BC

if hes into the backcountry, rogers pass is a mecca for untouched pow. even kananaskis has some decent backcountry spots, like burstall pass

Hes all about backcountry. Think he has a set up for a helicopter ride to the top of a mountain, hes very serious about his snow boarding.

And I think he is only sticking to Alberta for now.

Kicking Horse, Panorama and Fernie are usually good In Feb. They have been receiving big dumps around that time for the past few years that I can remember. If he's a very good boarder, he should like them. Sunshine and Louise get way too crowded.

I always hear helicopters at Kicking Horse so I'm guessing that there should be Heli-skiing around there.

you can slackcountry around kicking horse at the top of the gondona and the lifts

get to the top of the lifts and head to the bowls on the other side of the mountain. short hike usually, but once youre at the bottom, its quite a way back to the in-bounds front side.

fernie has the fish bowl, head to the most right bowl and hike to the top of snake ridge. then drop into the right side of the ridge

but if hes going to sunshine, delirium dive and the wawa bowl (into sidedoor and backdoor) have quite a bit to offer. it just gets tracked out quite a bit by lunch time
