Do any of you guys use support brackets for your GPU? My 3080 is bowing down a bit in the middle of the board and metal backing.
I always use all of the case mounted screws that the GPU comes with, and try to bend it up a bit and tighten the crap out of them. But otherwise I don't put any additional brackets on since the card wasn't designed for it.
I've got 2 screws in the pice slots, but my EVGA 3080 doesnt really bend, which card do you have thats visibly bowing?
Anyone have a recommendation on an SSD-somewhere around 250 to 500GB? Turns out my Crucial M500 is over it's rated TBW...
Have my eye on a Sabrent Rocket 4 right now.
Usage is just to go into my Plex/Surveillance server.
They are a tad more, but after years or replacing supposedly reliable Intel drives, I switched to Samsung and haven't had to replace one yet, and I've got at least 4 well past the 5 year warranty.
I didn't compare them all, but the SATA 860 evo is $45 off right now, so $75 for a 500 GB at Mem Ex.

If it's just for storage, get whatever Samsung 850/860 or Crucial MX500 is on sale at the moment. I picked up a 2TB MX500 for $170 a while ago, and if you're shopping in the 250-500GB range they are extremely cheap.
Paying up for PCI 4.0 isn't going to be noticeable for your listed usage, I wouldn't bother with the Rocket 4 personally.
Samsung's "Pro" drives are rated for much higher endurance but they are expensive so it might still be more cost effective to churn cheap drives.
Thanks guys. Only reason I wanted a m.2 form factor was so that I could free up another SATA port for when I need it in the future.
Edit: It's been a while, MLC>TLC? Or is it the other way around?
You want MLC: https://pcpepper.com/slc-vs-mlc-vs-t...-i-buy-for-pc/
Dirt cheap option: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX80113 (250GB)
Well, after helping others to get video cards, now that it is time to build my PC this weekend, I can't find shit.
Anyone able to help me out? If you get a call from MemX or whatever saying your reservation is available and you don't want it anymore, please, let me know, I will take it. Any of the 30 series or AMD 5800 series.
Hell, I will even take a 2080 for a REASONABLE price.
Same here, Chris.
I went to MemEx over the weekend and put my name down for an ASUS TUF 3060ti. They told me there's 7 people on the waitlist so I hope it's not a long wait.
Pure impulse buy and I'm not even sure I need it. If I end up not buying it, I'll send you a PM. Fuck them scalpers.
I dropped by MemEx NE two weekends ago and they got nothing. They checked my line up for a 3070 at NW and said I might get a call if that model comes in. He didn’t say what position I’m in for that card. Maybe he was just being nice to give me some hope.
