Hey that's weird! The article says it's only available in 3 door version. Is this true?
Is that Canadian pricing, because that is a pretty good price.
But the last Golf R was 6 speed and 4 door only.
Typically, US only gets 3 doors, while we get 5 doors.
Mk4 was only 2 door never sold in Canada. Mk5 was only 2 door never sold in canada. Mk6 was only 4 door and 6spd.Quote:

Are these being built in Germany or Mexico? A June SOP will arrive at dealerships in the August/Sept timeframe.
$40k puts it pretty close to STI pricing.
Germany for the Golf R. Mexico isn't ready for AWD yet as far as I've read.
STI with leather and nav is 45k base. Base STI is a decent deal at 38k but for 2k more Golf R looks to be a much better deal.
Is there a limited number of units for Canada this time around?
That price is better than I anticipated. Was thinking GTI with PP but this is tempting. Damn house renovations eating into my car budget means lots of arguments with the wife trying to justify another car.:(
