Curious where you guys get your 10w60 oil from? Guy I bought the car from was using Lucas Oil but usually use Pennzoil or Castrol synthetic in my other cars depending what is on sale at Canadian Tire but CT doesn't have 10w60.

Just add twice as much 5w30.
I have 0w20, would it be 15w60? or would it be 0w60?
Why would you need 10w60 for? 10w30 or even 10w40 should suffice? Is there something specific about 10w60 the vehicle requires?

He's got a lot of experience with M3s. I was picking his brain about an e90 that I'm interested in, and he mentioned that he usually gets people away from 10w60 as it's not needed/less than ideal for our climate and most driving. He'll also respond if you dm him on instagram @jzs_161
Thanks man I messaged him.
"I typically advise either Motul 5W40 300V or 15W50 in these cars. 300V is a bit pricier than normal oil, but it's the absolute best protection for the engine."
I'll have to find a source for Motul now as mine stopped working at the dealership.
Never thought to check Amazon. Thanks
Jimmy is at Vex… they carry Motul
I ran Motul 10w60 in my M5, but it was a summer-only car. Would probably do a 40 weight if you drive it all winter
10w60 nice.. e46 m3?
sounds like a yes after reading the thread
Most Euro shops should be able to help you out.
Locally can find Liquimoly, Motul, Fuchs, Total - all have a 10w60
For a bmw m engine I would only run 10w60 … seen too many wrecked engines from people trying to run other oils.
And for a e9x with extra clearance bearings installed, they are designed around 10w60 … if the bearing are not done , I would do it … you don’t want to win the German lotto …
Shell / castrol from the dealer… some online sources can save money … liquidmoly from tunerworks … make sure the oil is bmw spec or don’t run it …
This is why ExtraSlow is the true champ.

I ran BMW's 10W60, the expensive shit from the dealership parts counter, or Liquimoly, on my E90. As has been said; gambling with a $20k engine replacement didnt seem like much fun.
Changing oil on the S65 is already stressful, with the complete lack of a dipstick. Maybe I'm alone in that feeling? It was weird. Felt like I needed to bust out the pyrex erlenmeyer flask in order to get the right volume of oil into the thing.
