I've seen a lot of questions concerning engine lights and how to check them. Below are some simple directions with pictures (borrowed from bseries.net)
This will work for any of these vehicles:
1994-2001 (3rd Gen) Integra (RS/LS/GS/SE/GSR/Type-R)
1992-1995 (5th Gen) Civic (VX/CX/DX/LX/EX/SI)
1993-1997 Civic Del Sol (S, Si, VTEC)
1996-2000 (6th Gen) Civic (VX/CX/DX/LX/EX/SI)
1) Take a paperclip and bend it into a U-Shape.
Underneath the dash, most commonly right under the glove compartment, is a green rubber boot.
With the ignition off, jump this plug with the paperclip so that each end of the paperclip enters each opening of the plug. After this is done, turn your ignition key (to the point where it is one step away from starting your vehicle) and count the number of flashes.
The long flashes are tens, and the short ones are ones.
For example, 3 long flashes and 5 short flashes means code 35.
