Is this on Disney plus yet?
$1.7bn and climbing.
Already the 7th highest grossing film of all time.
Woo boy this was something.
Visual spectacle, CGI porn at its finest.
Aside from that, atrocious story and painful characters. I get they wanted to put the visuals on display but there's not a lot of meat to this movie. Shave off half an hour for the love of god.
Still a 7/10 but that's 10/10 visually compensating for a 6/10 story/plot.
These reviews do not make it sound like I'd enjoy this movie. It's not even on my list to watch. Fuck that.
Meh movies theatres have kindof shifty hdr anyway
Would rather watch at home.
Oh it's only good in 3d? Then I'm out anyway, I have very asymetric vision so 3d give me awful headaches. last 3d I was at I had to close my eyes for at least half the movie.
I watched it in 4k on my OLED and it looked pretty dank. I haven't seen anything in 3D in so long I can't remember.
I deducted a point in my rating for being too long.
Avatar really benefits from being seen in a theatre. Screen size and audio are obviously big factors, but also just in being the only thing happening in the theatre. I realize I have the same problem watching a movie at home as I do working from home, which is I have a lot of distractions at home. Even if I'm the only person in a theatre, I'm far less likely to do something else like look something up on my phone.
It is incredibly long and you have to find a way to get yourself comfortable. I normally loathe the theatre recliners, but I found it helpful here. Sitting in theatre-style seating for this long would be hell on my knees. It's probably one of the few instances where I'm okay with paying the inflated VIP prices for a movie.
Way too much time spent on the mini-weaver character just swimming around looking at things. You could cut 30min right there.
I heard that they say "Brah" like a lot...
Will not watch based on this info.
