I don’t think unions ever claimed to be positive contributions to the well-being of the taxpayer.
I don't think you've ever truly heard any brainwashed Union member talk of all the good they do regardless of sector but Gov't Unions think they're the only thing keeping Gov't running, private anything would cost everyone more money and make everything more expensive.
IMO privatization and outsourcing will cost the same but less management nightmare and long term commitment. That's where the money saving is.
With current inflation trend and staff shortage, I'm sure there are some unions who signed on multiple years agreements in the last 12-18 months probably felt ripped off. :D
3 week "circuit breaker" lockdown coming on Monday
Won't be called that though, cos the name makes it sound bad
From the same source that I predicted the last one with
If that happens to you guys I hope no one listens to it. What a worthless endeavour.
i agree and our ICU is still really low so i cant see that drastic of change...

Kenney already said that no one listens to him... now we need to prove it...
Lock everyone up except essential government employees who can stay home, do nothing and still get paid.
Aren't all of you guys working to "support critical operations of essential infrastructure"? I'm betting you are . . . . .
Since it’s the unions moaning about lockdowns again, they should volunteer that every one of their members take the same pay cut that all the workers affected by their demands would take. It’s easy for people sitting at home collecting full pay to demand something that won’t affect their pocketbook in the least. Bet they’d shut up pretty quick if it was them being put out of a job
Or the unions should pony up some of their cash to provide supports for the businesses they’re demanding be shut down
Every day there's a lockdown, a union boss gets hunted for sport by the low-income workers who lose wages.
The current demands of the unions are the best argument against mincome anyone could possibly come up with.
Give people the chance to demand to be paid with other peoples money to do nothing has very predictable results.
