Technically it wasn't that quick. They had the framework for COVID vaccines already. When political and funding barriers are out of the way, and financial/governmental/scientific resources are aggregated towards a solution: shit can move very quickly. Not a ton of perfect information on that but I found this at a quick glance: BC Government

If your chose your source to be a ridiculous outlier from the actual scientific and medical research community, you're cherrypicking populist nonsense to fit your worldview. You need there to be a grand conspiracy, you've invested so heavily in being a skeptic, that no amount of high quality evidence will change your position. Science is entirely about consensus; the consensus they speak of is a highly critical peer review framework using scientific method, not Johnny Junior trying to impress his alcoholic uncle by towing the family's politics.

If you choose your scientific source based on opinions of what you believe to be the consensus(or seems to be politically), instead of based on whether it stands up to scientific method. Then you're cherry picking just as bad as some idiot anti-vaxxer. Both of you are opposite ends of the same spectrum of people that don't understand science.

Questioning peoples choice not to vaccinate is on the same spectrum of being anti-vax and only one small step away from becoming a doxing Karen. If we are going to publically shame anti-vaxxers, let’s shame smokers, fatties and whoever else doesn’t fit your standard of “perfect human being”.

And what anti-vax view have I displayed? I am vaccinated for everything that matters, and I brought my kid for his vaccinations. The only thing I don't get is flu and covid shots, because I am at risk for neither, I just don't care about them. I'm not seething here telling all of you not to get it, or touting that the vaccine causes autism or is to fill you with 5g microchips. Believe it or not you can actually be pro-vax without displaying an insane amount of fear and anxiety on a car forum about needing a vaccine to be able to live your life.

It's hilarious how similar some of you are to anti-vaxxers, you just sit opposite side of the crazy spectrum.

Same here - in absolutely no rush to get a vaccine, esp. the pfizer one. Maybe 6-12 months after the vaccine allows you to skip lines and less restrictions (doubt this will ever happen here though) I might consider it and even then, im only eyeing the russian vaccines.

Being an anti-vaxxer is dumb.

Claiming to be 'pro-vax', consistently going on about the negative aspects of restrictions, but not caring about/not being in a rush to get a vaccine is truly something special to behold.
