Why did you need to fly out? Couldn't you have done all the paperwork/transportation remotely?
Congrats. That's a stellar color choice too. Curious about the cost of transport from the east coast - mind me asking how much it was or who it was arranged through? I have similar (bad) ideas floating in my head for the next toy.
Thats a pretty sweet little whip
Was getting allocation the reason you went eastward, @A2VR6 ?
Or was there other reason?
Did you have to add any mandatory extras etc. :D
Market adjustment pricing etc?
Hopefully during PDI they didn't drill holes in the bumper for a gay front plate.
I assume you got MSRP to go all the way out there to get one?
Depending on the level of service it highly varies. Enclosed quotes were $3800-5200, regular car carrier was around $2800 - 3000, and enclosed rail was $2000. I went with the rail choice with Hansen's as i've used them in the past they were pretty good. The car will go for paint correction/decontamination anyways so im not super worried about rail dust and such. Hell, the car got shipped there by rail from Vancouver anyways. Its a Honda, not a Zonda
Getting an allocation was a big reason. From what I understand, every car is basically spoken for over the whole run. I basically was cold calling dealers across Canada just to see if any of them would play ball with securing me an allocation at MSRP. These guys were willing to sell me the car for MSRP + 1800 total in floor mats, tire and rim for 5 years and key fob for 5 years. Not amazing but I havent heard/seen of these roll out the door without some sort of dealer fee or accessory and the vast majorty of these have much more in extras that dealers force you to pay if you want one (5k+ in many cases out west). They didnt force me into a trade or financing or any of that stuff either
No front plates in NS thankfully
Congrats on the car. It's probably the best overall sport compact car out there.
Thats insane that you literally had to go across Canada to secure a FL5! But thats awesome you got it. The car is worth the hype!
Cool car, cool story, cool bro.
