Can confirm, mine is at 86% might as well be say 20% for how long it lasts

Show your battery usage graph, that sounds terrible actually.
Saw a tiktok on the weekend about if you have early model Airpod Pros that have the crackle and static that they will be replaced. Brought them into the apple store and now I have a fresh new set. Been using them for 8+ hours a day for 2.5 years. Fresh battery last so long compared to well used ones.
By static do you mean when you first put them in there’s a burst of static?
My right was unusable with both in ear. If you touched it it would pop and sound like tv from the 80s on static channel. Could only use one at a time. Which is what i do 90% of the time anyways. I thought they would only replace the right but they did both after going to the back and running a test on them.
Crackling Noise Repair Program
Apple launched a repair program for AirPods Pro to fix a problem that causes some AirPods Pro models to exhibit sound issues such as crackling or static or faulty Active Noise Cancellation. Customers who purchased AirPods Pro at launch in 2019 are covered until October 2022 should this issue arise, and those who bought in 2020 before the repaired version in October 2020 came out can get repairs until 2023.
Affected models have static or crackling sounds that increase in loud environments such as with movement or when talking on the phone, or Active Noise Cancellation that fails to work properly with a loss of bass, increased background sound, or a street or airplane noise.
The faulty AirPods Pro models were manufactured before October 2020, and those who are experiencing issues can take the AirPods Pro to Apple for service at no charge. AirPods Pro will be examined prior to service to verify that they're eligible for the program.
Cool, thanks, will definitely try to replace mine then. The ANR on them never works anymore either.
I’ve had mine replaced twice. This time around, so far so good.
Joined the <80% battery club on my 11.
Is going to a new 13 or 13 Pro worth it or should I just have the battery replaced?
Always get a pro for the big battery, but I’d just replace your battery instead of dropping a mortgage payment on a new phone.
got my iphone13 and can definitely notice apps opening faster, even browsing it's like a half a second difference.
What’s the easiest way to get a new phone with Apple care? My iPhone 13 pro has been absolute garbage lately and don’t want to get jerked around with repairs..
Apple care?
Drop it? Smash it? Get a new phone?
I thought it was as simple as that? Let the expert @rage2 chime in.
I’ve taken a hammer to the phone before.
Pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Give it to my wife and tell her it’s important, she’ll break it in a matter of minutes.
so 200$ for 2 years coverage and get a free upgrade near the end?
might have to finally sign-up for AppleCare and accidentally drop my phone while cycling
Apple Event - Sept, 7
*Need Matte Black!
Apple Watch Pro
Others products that's coming out this fall!?:
Airpods Pro 2nd Gen
Apple TV
iPad (10th Gen)
Getting airpods pro on first day for sure. Probably i14 pro as well.
New Apple event is going on. Anyone looking out for something specific?
Lot of 14 'features' seem to be software based? Action mode, crash detection etc? I'd imagine 13's should get them too?
I’ll get AirPods Pro I got great use of my current ones.
No need for a new phone though.
Crash detection relies on a new chip so no it’s not coming to 13.
I think rage might cream his pants with 2000 nit brightness haha
iPhone 14 SOS mode seems pretty cool if it works as advertised. Might save people from having an Inreach or spot service. That is if you're in good enough shape to open the app and point it to the sky looking for a satellite.
Will work fine in the prairies. Not so much in the mountains where dedicated sat phones barely maintain connection.
Canada is too far north for most sat services.
I am mostly interested in the new watch so waiting on that...will see about the phone I guess.
Apple Watch Ultra looks killer
"Pre-order starting at 5:00 a.m. PT on 9.9" Those East coasters have it easy...
Have to wait until the 23rd to get the new AirPods. sadface
2000 nits brightness is useless when brightness drops to 200 nits in the sun because of the heat from the sun and the phone needs to cool itself lol. Can’t even imagine how bad it would be in a place hotter than our Alberta summers.
I guess that’s great if watching Dolby atmos movies on a 6” screen is something you’re into. :dunno:
Debating between watch 8 and the ultra. Like that the ultra is at leas a little diff. looking than the current gen unlike the 8 which is the same.
Honestly the fact they shoved a GlobalStar transmitter in there is the biggest upgrade here. Really impressive from a tech standpoint. I wonder if Garmin is shitting their pants right now.
This is going to eat into all the sales of handheld locator beacons.
Not sure how big is the dive watch market but seems like Ultra is a bargain compared to Garmin's offerings too.
For most part it's a meh Apple release. Guess no USB C for another year.
Side note, looks like price held for US/Canada/China/India but everybody else has to pay more.
49mm case size on the Ultra watch. lol.
I ordered the Ultra...I love the idea of the bigger face.
Had to buy on phone app as website was still down but got a purple 14 pro to match my golf.
Ya the ultra is already growing on me haha. I still wouldn’t wear something that big, but I like the aesthetic.
I ordered a 14 pro max 512 today. Seems like a decent time to upgrade from my XS Max, I want to keep lightning cables.
Estimated shipping Oct 9th. Any chance it goes out sooner?
anyone having problems checking out with paybright? keeps timing out or wont connect since morning lol
Apparently there are a bunch of issues with the orders. Widespread issue.
Arent they always just meh though?
USB C will be the big announcement for next year lol
Everytime i get a new phone i always waffle with the reg and max, i was holding my wifes max last night but just couldnt get over how much bigger it was. i ordered the 14 P reg but might change it... mines oct 16 eta
I hope you were aware that your wife is used to holding large objects in her hand.
Did I read it right somewhere that the sizes of iPhone 14's are bigger too now? AS in the regular and Max are both bigger now? My 13 Pro Max is the perfect size IMO and any bigger, it would be too much.
Apple would probably get better reception if they just offered $50 battery replacement on the last 5 models.
Definitely reached peak phone features. Now it's just diminishing returns for new colors as others pointed out.
As you can see, I am not Apple Fanboi.
I just assumed they charged $100+ given that no one replaces these batteries.
$89 for my iPhone 12.
It’s a shame the prices are hidden somewhere obscure like… their website
I'm still using my Iphone SE. I was late to the Apple party (well sort of, I ran the very first Iphone back in the mid/late 2000s, and then not again until the more recent Iphone SE, not the older one). I think I'm going to buy this latest phone, as well as a couple of the iWatches, as I want them with cell so I can stick one on my father so he always has an emergency contact device. I'm stuck in an effing wheelchair for the next 5 weeks until shattered leg #1 and effed up leg #2 heal enough they can bear weight, and having just spent 12 days in the hospital with an iPhone SE as my "device", I've realized that trading small pocket size for very small screen size truly blows when you need to use your phone for things other than...phoning. I just wish the Plus size was out at the same time as the regular size, but the 14 will do for now.
Anyone got their 14 pro yet? I read an article yesterday that apparently they shit the bed with iOS 16 and iMessage/FaceTime don't work right, and they don't yet have a solution in the pipeline.
Clickbait, or accurate? Personal experiences?
My buddy had the 14 pro and I saw it the other day. Pretty nice. New home screen is pretty cool too. Will I upgrade from my 11 pro for it? Definitely not
Got my mother a 14 non pro yesterday. Seemed fine?
I’ve been on iOS 16 for a few weeks and it’s been really solid.
I have a 13 Pro Max and haven't had a chance to look at all the 'new' features of the 14 Pro yet. What are the Coles notes though? Is it worth the upgrade or shouldn't bother?
PS: I also haven't seen IOS 16 update come through? That should be universal to older phones too I would think.
EDIT: NVM just checked and it shows 15.7 is available but also 16.
Dynamic island. More megapixels which the android people seem to care about. If you die in the woods they will be able to find your body.
I got mine late on Friday night. The display is easily the biggest upgrade for me, coming from a 12 Pro. Camera is better in a lot of situations, but I find close-up shots take a while to focus or come out blurry. Hopefully, some software updates resolve these issues. Dynamic Island is pretty sweet. Other changes are really iOS changes from what I can tell.
Give it a bit of time for apps/devs to get their shit together and I think the notch UI is going to be amazing. Personally, I don't think it's worth the upgrade but my mom needed a new phone, so I gave her my 12 pro and got myself a new phone.
Sir, it's called dynamic island, not dynamic peninsula.
Side by side, camera is also not a huge jump. Some even say 13 looks better on some shots. Bionic 16 isn't that far a jump from 15.
That leave Always On Display and Dynamic Island as the only real new feature for people coming from 13.
I used a 13 Pro upgraded to iOS 16 for a few days before i got my 14 Pro. My observations are that its a negligible upgrade.
- The battery life of the 14 Pro has been terrible so far even after shutting off always on display.
- Camera is moot in 90% of my use cases.
- Dynamic Island has made absolutely no difference in my life save for some neat animations when i am playing some music
- The new screen layout because of the DI is actually in the way a lot because it extends to the end of the display vs adding a black black bar housing the notch when watching videos. Also the clock is positioned where and gets in the way of buttons that use the top left (like an X on an item on FB Marketplace)
- The max brightness is awesome but see the first point
If anyone is thinking of going to the 14 pro from the 13 pro, dont. Its not worth it and none of your cases will fit.
Upgrading from my 12 regular to the 14 pro. Was considering going 13 pro a while back because of the battery life. Apparently I'm a heavy user or something as battery life is an issue for me. Only other issue I've heard is there are issues with the mechanical zoom on some models.
Mechanical zoom?
