My MBP is still on High Sierra. What's the point of upgrading OS? I'm still getting updates.

I'm updating to Mojave after this FileVault encryption bullshit is over.... 8 hours to go lol. I looked on the Apple Support website and it says Catalina needs at least 4 gigs of RAM. I only have 4 max. So Mojave it is for now.
How do you function with 4GB ram lol
I asked myself that as well. Seems to hold up for the small tasks I have to do with it. Damn do I love Mac OS.
Thanks for that.
16 gigs is the absolute max we can install on these? Good to know.
Yup. Also if you're not using the DVD drive anymore, you can swap it out with a hard drive caddy and have two hard drives in the laptop. Mid-2012 was the last MBP that allowed you to do that. Only takes 10 minutes to do.

^ Thanks!
And by hard drive. He means ssd.
can't get my beats bluetooth earbuds to connect to my MBP no matter what I do.
EDIT: Nevermind. Had to delete the Beats from my iCloud that was attempting to use it across all platforms. Turned them back on and it connected no problem.
Yea with Macs knowing which refresh they are is key, year is less helpful as there can be multiple models in a year. I’ve seen as many as 3 minor revisions in some years.
well doh, forgot to confirm the model#. will let you guys know once I have it hopefully next week.
been playing with a Mac on VM but felt like getting a hardware this time
So when do you all think new Apple stuff will be released now due to COVID?
Supposed to be a new entry level iPhone and a new MacBook Pro 13” coming out this month.
So this is my first time using a non-Apple BT headset with my MacBook Pro and it switches codec from Spotify to MS Teams.
I'm listening to music and then when I go to a meeting, I can't unmute the mic unless I turn off the headset and turn it back on.
Anyone else face this issue?
