Agreed, but I still enjoyed it!

The only thing I don't like about Tkachuk is that he's sometimes really cocky about it and it comes back to bite us in the ass... like with the Kings.
I haven't watched Cory Perry that much but he seems like he plays the way he plays and then he keeps quiet about it on the ice, which is actually more aggravating to the other team and more effective.
I agree with his play being a little cunty.... but unfortunately it's a big part of the game now and we have him on our side. And guys like Marchand and Perry and Wilson are proof that you need these guys on contending teams.
Tkachuk points. Last year: 77, this year: 38.
Kassian points. Last year: 26, this year: 28.
I think Tkachuk isn't nearly as dirty as Perry, Marchy, let alone the old antic of Downy or Rinaldo (though Rinaldo has been pretty clean this year). He's a skilled player who happens to be gritty in the dirty areas, and will do whatever it takes to defend himself as he's often targeted. Does he try to raise the temperature... yup, and remains cool under pressure, very clever tactic.
I would reckon that if you were Brady or Matt, with the name Tkachuk on the back of your Jersey representing in Div 1 or the OHL, you'd have to keep your head on a swivel constantly and they learned to play with that type of vigilance.
Tom Wilson is actually a different player altogether. A 1st rounder who has a half decent shot, finishes harder on the check and is basically there as a pure power forward to loose the puck, clean up rebounds and additionally to protect Backstrom and Ovi. BUT unlike the hype with Kassian, Virtanan, etc... he actually lived up to expectations. I mean don't get me wrong, being on the same line with Backstrom and Ovi will result in plenty of opportunity... but he also makes that 1st line not only top scoring but maybe the most intimidating. Kinda like young Lucic but maybe more physical, and with better overall fitness.
I don't like Tom Wilson, but who wouldn't want him on the team.

NHL says the hits were clean.
Kassian’s post game says he liked those hits, just upset that tkachuk won’t man up and fight. Didn’t even check in for concussion protocol on all 3 hits, pretty much as clean of a hard hit as you can get.
But we're talking only 46 games into this season, so that puts Kassian on pace for 50 points this year (nearly double of last year's) and Tkachuk on pace for 68 which is well shy of last year.
I was at this game and the hits were clean but the big one took advantage of a player in a vulnerable position, which is cunty, but not technically illegal. Kassian needs to do up his fucking chinstrap properly. He lost his lid twice because his strap looks like a fucking skipping rope. You ain't Bertuzzi.
Edmonton deserved the win but it was still a great game and could've gone either way. He was very lucky he didn't get 5+2 in my opinion, even though I was happy to see him thumping that smug little prick.

i stand by what i said lol... i still would have done it though, i used to play like a cunt.
I missed the game. anyone got video links to the hits?

Theres the second one
I don't see why everyone is calling that one hit a hit to the head. The main point of contact was Kaissian's shoulder and his head flopped over. Keep your head up and tighten your chin strap you boob.
I like a good fight as much as the next guy but Kaissian's wires crossed and he went ape shit. I didn't really like watching him rag doll Chucky and throw punches after he threw him to the ground, thats just dirty IMHO. I know he did it because Tkachuk wouldn't entertain a fight, but he does that to aggravate and I guess you could say he was successful. I also love that he threw another monster hit in the 3rd period after Kasissian came back.
Why should a guy have to fight after a clean hit? Makes no sense unless you want to completely remove hitting from the game and watch professional timbits I suppose.
I agree there's a lot of fights i find odd because they result from a clean hit, but like it has been said, while this is legal and "clean" it's really not that clean. You know it when you line up for it, but you do it anyway cause that's hockey.
Everyone is just looking at it subjectively as a flames fan, especially it being vs the oilers.
