I'm planning on taking 6 weeks off when mine is born. But I also WFH, so it might be hard on my wife when I'm home, but unavailable after that 6 week time.

I took a week off, which is this week, but really we’re already in a nice routine that I could easily go back to work. The time with the boy is special though.
I could see the 2nd one being a different story or if we had a baby that cried.
I started my MBA two weeks after my first was born.
There has to be an in appropriate joke in here somewhere….

I took 2 weeks (company gave me a week plus a week vacation). Went back to work for 3 days (from Home) before Christmas then got another 2 weeks off for holidays.
Worked out super well actually.
Don't buy a Diaper Genie while you're not taking time off.
Are you really going to make gay jokes, on today's Beyond? This is now a welcoming and inclusive environment (for most). Be better.
:poosie:
Truth is, we've all been where you are, and one day you'll see... How abso-fucking-lutely ridiculous first time parents can sound pre-baby. You don't have to take my word for it; just give it a couple years
Oh I already know I am in for a learning experience of a lifetime. Will be fun and will take it day-by-day. I am loving all the great, useful and funny input by everyone so decided to add my 2 cents of humour. Nothing personal against the gays as that didn't even cross my mind when I said that. haha.
PS: we already have the diaper genie's sorted out. :D
Also, might as well start minivan shopping.
Fuck that. I got to draw a line somewhere.
Wife's the farthest thing from a car-person and even she doesn't wanna be seen in a minivan. Haha.
I know you want to move past this topic, but I have to leave this thought.
Your wife is not thinking rationally right now. She's pregnant. So if she's normally 8/10 for rationality, right now, six weeks out, she's at about a three. She will be thinking especially irrationally when she's trying to push out the kid. Around a 1/10. After she gives birth, she'll be a -3/10.
These are facts. Not a knock at your wife. Pregnancy hormones do crazy crazy shit to a womans mind.
Edit: Also, if you cancel your trip with out consulting her at all, and just tell her you didn't feel comfortable with it being so close, you're going to get massive brownie points.
You're not allowed to call them Brownies anymore... That's racist. They are now called Embers...

How about cookie points instead? Gets the job done without being racist? lol
I always though brownie points was related to brown nosing, not girl guides?
