You guys plan?

Just found out wife and I are expecting. We are excited but cautiously optimistic as last year we lost our baby to a "missed-misscarriage" at 4 and a half months. That was tough. We are quite excited though i hope everything goes well for us this time around.
Congrats man!!
Congrats and good luck.
you know what's fucking annoying, when your kid gets to the point they wanna do stairs over and over and over again, we're there with number 2 and its just as annoying as the first time around :nut:
LilSmurfo, it's all relative to the point you're at, it will get better, but also worse, then better again, then worse... i think that goes on forever, judging by my calculations. Just take it day by day and really emphasize the good parts so you feel better lol
That's the most relevant quote anyone has ever said about having kids. Its 100% factual. Take it all in.Quote:
The days are long, but the years are short.
Good luck bro. Know exactly what you're going through as the wife and I went through it twice before the baby finally coming this July. Now this little fucker won't sleep and cries non-stop and is making us question our decisions to have a kid to being with. FML....all part of the process I suppose. Haha.
Keep positive and good vibes your way that hopefully all goes well.
what kind of mattress did you go with when you switched your kids to a big kid bed? Foam? Hybrid? Internet is hard to tell what's just an ad trying to sewer certain types lol
Any mattress, if you can fit it get a queen size and get a waterproof mattress cover. Queen is so you can just jump in bed with them in case they come to get you to avoid crowding in your own bed. Waterproof mattress cover becasue the kid will piss the bed when they are out of pull ups or whatever, replace it when they are a teenager likely.
Don't go crazy, but get something you'd be happy with sleeping on.
were using memory foam. I don't find it comfortable, but the 5 yo doesn't seem to mind
We didn't overthink it. Our daughter is on some kind of Ikea mattress, that's reasonably comfortable. Our son is in a hand-me-down sealy spring mattress from like 50 years ago with a 2" memory foam topper. We'll get them something better someday when the kids weigh more than 40lbs, and are old enough to care about anything besides what pictures are on their bedding.
Something cheap because guaranteed the kid will throw up on it.
lol mattress protection is obviously a must. At 166 weeks old, Not a pee'r but definitely a thrower upper here and there.
Ok i'm usually good at not over thinking things, but its different with kids
i'll go with an ikea mattress like i figured in the first place.
Ikea has a good selection of inexpensive kids frames and mattresses with ok quality.
Ikea stopped making the ones we bought (our bed, kids bed, and trailer beds), but this is the new equivalent. Old models were awesome, hopefully these are similar.
