FFC, Future Foundations Charter Academy, is a charter school. They're publicly funded, but operate outside of the CBE and are a poor-mans private school. The waitlist is LONG. Like I said, if you didn't apply when your kid was born, they aren't getting in. They have a "lottery" to get in besides the waitlist, but I've heard from someone who used to work there that it isn't very lottery like.
TLC (Traditional Learning Center) is CBE's best attempt at a private school. Uniforms, daily homework, a little stricter in the class. They operate more like CBE did in the 80's. Easy to get in if you are in their walking zone, and a lottery if you aren't. Not without it's faults, but I'm glad ours is in one VS regular CBE. Our daughters friend transferred to a normal school to make it easier on her parents commuting, and a month later she was back, lol. Her parents learned quickly how shitty the rest of CBE is.
