Isn't that what Florida said 3 months ago?
Restaurants don't count, I've heard.
Assuming that's been since everyone could get vaccinated? Even so how many had to close for the lockdown? Was that nicer for the owners? Shorter? Less damaging?
At this point forward lockdowns or shutdowns imposed by Government shouldn't be a worry is the point. I suppose enough people can still get sick to shut a business down but I would imagine the odds of that are dropping and dropping every week. And I'm not sorry, I'm fully vaccinated but I'll never support mandatory vaccination requirements by employers or by the Government. We lost an entire crew to covid, it wasn't ideal but they all came back to work. We survived. Whatever money we lost there is a fraction of the revenue we lost for the months everything was shut down. We survived that too but the losses were into multiple 7 figures. I'll take sick staff for a short period of time over that every time going forward.
We've paid all our staff to go get their shots on company time but I'm not going to make anyone do it to keep their job, I think it's immoral. Everyone who wants one now has had one and it is most of them. They're fine. We're fine. Life goes on.
It has everything to do with government, because the government legal system is what determines whether this illegal infringement of rights is allowed or not. You can use whatever excuse you want to justify this nonsense, the result in the end is the same regardless.
My sister’s family up in Edmonton are all double vaccinated and the delta variant is running through the household right now. Nothing serious yet but I’m thinking this will be a fact of life for everybody this winter.
I missed the part that the unvaccinated were forced to work for Air Canada.
Vaccine mandates are stupid, the benefit of vaccines should be incentive enough for people to get them.
Stupid rules are often used to influence stupid people.
Stupid rules are often caused by stupid people.
I’m talking about business interruption due to sick leave. When delta hit India, we had to reprioritize projects to maintain operations to not impact our customers.
Retail and hospitality are a different story. That said, they want to enforce mandatory vaccines and passports in hopes of restrictions stability.
The government's purpose is to enforce our rights. Your statements are not equivalent in any way.
If there is one area I do support government oversight, it is in enforcing our basic human rights. Thats about the only area it is needed in our lives, and even then, at the barest of minimums.

See Table 5 of this UK technical briefing document (p18-19)
Raw data (uncorrected for confounding issues, see p19) demonstrate that 402/742 ER cases of delta were fully vaxxed (54%), 253/742 ER cases were unvaxxed (34%). So much for this being only 1% vax
