Just had to do something similar for my company. I used the blackberry transporter tool which ended up working out perfectly, no re-activation necessary.

There may also be a setting in the phone that decides whether the phone is detected as a modem or as a storage device.

Try doing a firmware upgrade. You can find the new firmware on the manufacturers website. It can sometimes make a big difference.

you need to use shaw's outgoing mail server.

shawmail.cg.shawcable.net

keep Telus' incoming mail server the same.


try that, and you will be able to send and receive your email on shaw.

Mine was acting up last night as well. The modem wouldn't come back online for a while...I unplugged it for about 10 min and then tried again and it eventually came back online.

Mercury IM is another program you can use. Works pretty well for MSN messenger w/ webcam support.

You also might have to set the phone into USB Storage Mode...some by default will be set to act as a modem when you plug it in...I know my Moto had the option to change it
