I have about 130K, but was way under 100 when I did the switch. A friend of mine had the same thing happen to him and the majority of it ended up around his plugs. No blue smoke when it's started...

I just buy the $35-$40 filters man, I ain't a high roller...

I got a K&N cleaning kit, worked fine but made a mess and took forever to dry... IMO it's easier to just get a new filter, what's another $20-$25 :dunno:

I drive it a few times every day and I didn't see 1 cop car (undercover or a reg crusier) the entire "blitz" either, IMO they used it as a scare tactic, nothing more.

Yeah mine does that, I always override it with the defrost, as your most likely aware, A/C it takes a bit of power away from the car. I don't see a point to the a/c coming on when you have defrost...
