SCAB = Still Can Afford Beer
Umm.. hate to burst your bubble but, AWD setups like the Evo's and WRX's can drift... very tough on pavement and normal dry street racing conditions, but it is doable. It is definitely doable, and...
sorry, didn't see this post till this morning.. it's 11:30 AM... I still haven't gotten my winters either and the roads are pretty shitty so I don't think i'll make it. Let me know the next one.
That's true, but the way I see it, their partnership with mitsu that helped them by some time by importing fresh new Japanese designs and cars, and re-branding them, while their own engineers sought...
It isn't impossible, just easire and more fun in a FR..
A few good sites for info about drifting...

RHD isn't illegal, importing an original non complying car is prohibited by CCRA. The following is RC4140, which is the law governing imports of veichles from the US and from foriegn countries.

Pretty much the same case as the 3si's.. My old stealth was badged with the Dodge label, but all the ID plates and tags were Mitsu tags. It's that funky partnership in the late 80's to mid 90's that...
I don't know, the sound on the FC is a little nicer and throatier IMHO... it just seems that way to me.. maybe I'm just on crack tho... ^_^
As for the 3 rotor.. I meant after turbo modifications...
1300 is not a good price.
I got 195/65/15 Toyo Observe g-02's for 788 + tax with steel roms, mounted, balanced, valve stems, and tire tax.
True, true, it's a different type of racing/tuning that everyone is looking to compete* in. However, I still don't think that's an excuse to modify a rx-7, which is not conceptually an off-the-line,...
Fast and straight, yes it is good, i'm not saying that having power is bad, but you gotta be able to turn properly as well. If fast and straight is all you can do, you'll be king of the 1/4 strip,...
Rightfully so! ^_^
That's the thought on every RX-7 fan's mind when a suggestion like that is made.
HP and displacement are not the only measure of a good performance car. That's an American...
The FC's are great little cars. I'll definitely admit the engine needs a lot of care and work, and if you drive it hard you'll look at blowing 2-4 G's every 6-8 years to rebuild the engine, but for a...
hahah whoops, my apologies...
Well if the AWD is a problem, you can always order the non-AWD Mitsu GTO body from Japan. Of course, the flip side to that is the $$ you'll have to shell out for container shipping.
Have you tried the new Mitsu dealers? They may be able to help you out.
Doesn't the ix series 'nix the sport suspensions and a few other mods in favour of the AWD?
Anyone in here run in the local Calgary auto club SOLO events? Is it any good? I've been thinking about checking it out...
Cool, I wonder if either of the mitsu dealers can help with the import of a 3si from the US.... Damn I miss that car...
There's nothing wrong with using the sequential shifters.. heck, F1 and CART cars use the same sequential, paddle-style shfters. Most newer Ferraris have the "F1" package as a popular option.
But...
There's also one on Barlow around Sunridge Way. It looks like they're running it out of a portable trailer as their showroom gets finished.
They took your work and books????
Now that's just pathetic....
If you ever find those guys put a tire iron across the face for all of us here (or more than one if it suits you). Either that or...
My condolences. I hope the insurance company won't dick you around too much.
Unfortuantely, no real amount of gadgetry will prevent a real pro thief from taking your ride. If you have the club...
It'd probably be a little cheaper to do an S14 conversion since the body panels, fenders, chins, etc are a little more readily available than S15 parts. That and I can't remember if there was any...
If you want to drop an SR20DET engine in it should only cost you about 4 -5 G's for the engine and tranny. Not overly bad for a 250 bhp unit...
Yeah... *sigh*
Ah well, in the mean time here's a pic to cheer you up while you wait for the R35 to come out... ^_^
Ahh sorry.. hehh greatly agreed, I'm so desperate to drive (or just sit in) a GT-R I'm planning a trip to Japan next April to catch round 1 of the JGTC, and to see if I can rent a R34/33 somewhere...
Good luck trying to get one into the country... Customs laws won't even let you import a '89 R32 until 2004, you're almost better off waiting for the R35 that's due out within 2-3 years. The damn...
Yeah, just tell your mom to get you the spec. It's much better than the standard SE-R. If you practice you'll get the hang of it in no time. Gotta admit tho, the tranny on the spec is a little klunky...
