I have an airthings home. Levels are typically 20 +/-10, used to be in the 3-400's.
A few days ago I noticed a fairly large piece of ice forming on the exterior of the fresh air intake duct in our furnace room. I used a blow dryer to melt the exterior ice build up, however, I can...
Going to grab these for now, and order a 12 pack of MERV 8 from furnacefilters.ca
...
Thanks for the input. Guess I'll be returning the Kirkland 2200/merv 12s.
Besides big box retailers, any other places local or online that sell merv 8s at a decent price?
Edit: these seem like a...
Was previously using some 3M Filtrete 1900MPR (20x25x1), but recently purchased the Kirkland brand ones which are 2200MPR. I initially assumed the higher MPR=better, but after doing some research, a...
I'm using the airthings home. Got it for $150 from home depot. Previously had levels around 400, after mitigating they're down to about 20.
Set out 8 traps, I checked today and caught 2 voles so far. Used no bait and just put them on their trails like others mentioned.
For those that have been successful with traps. Is this placement enough? have a bunch of runs below the fence to my neighbours yard, figured if they go back and forth this should catch em?

A bit off topic, but does anyone know what kind of sensors united alarm uses? wonder if I can connect them to a ring alarm system
Radon west did our mitigation yesterday, nothing really negative to say. They were professional and the install was clean. They used the rough in going below the house, but replaced the exhaust on...
I have Radon West coming today to do the mitigation. Currently sitting at ~400 average. Will update my post with how it goes.
Solid price on a dethatcher if anyone needs..

How low is low? Did 3 inches before last winter and had some vole damage. Thinking about trying 2 inches or something this time..?
Haha coincidentally your review was one of the few I read before purchasing them. Will report back with how many I catch..
Has anyone used these traps with success?

How much did they charge you?
My utilities are up for renewal..seems like floating natural gas and fixed electricity are the way to go.
For electricity, I can do:
1 year @ $6.29
3 year @ $6.39
5 year @ $6.59
Was likely...
Believe its the drain in the laundry room on the top floor.
Looking for a womens golf club set. PM with info.
3 days in and the basement average so far is 550...might just get it mitigated sooner for peace of mind...granted we've been in this home for 3 years now :dunno:
So far got one quote, lower than...
I'm not very much of a DIY guy...so pretty hesitant to try and tackle it on my own. Might watch a few youtube videos and see what I'd be in for.
Basement readings are still 400-450, albeit only...
Set up a detector 2 days ago, short terms showing 400. So I'm guessing we'll have to mitigate, see how the long run numbers look.
Who did you use for mitigation? what did you pay?
I was...
Got one quote so far from Arpi's.
Lennox EL16XC1 (elite series), 16 SEER, 3.5 ton - $5300
Lennox ML14XC1 (Merit series), rated 14-16 SEER, 3.5 ton - $4440
Seems like it might be on the pricier...
Can I ask how much?
Getting quotes from Arpis, Action furance, W&J, and Caloris. Will update the thread on which I decide to go with.
Well, finally need some AC in the house.
Can someone PM me Gavins contact info? Will get a quote from Arpi's, action furnace, and W&J as well.
I have a 2400sqft home, any idea what I should be...
Looks like some of my grass has a powdery mildew, any tips on how to get rid of it? Its mostly near the fence line, where it doesn't get much sun.

I had 3 of these planted last year, 2 of them seem to be doing okay. Is this third one considered dead? Or could it still make a comeback next year?
Also..anyone know what they're called?

Glad it worked out, aside from the time wasted trying to get it done lol. The day I found the Kobalt one, I initially tried price matching the greenworks one, but they kept giving me the run around...
Same Kobalt brand one?
See if they'll match the price to crowfoot, I can send you a picture of my receipt if needed.

This one worked well for us.
I'm guessing you've tried Terro ant bait? We had quite the ant problem last summer, bought a bunch of Terro stuff and they arent back this year.
What kind of rake are you guys using for grass/leaves? Just picked up a garant 20 tine, but it feels pretty aggressive.
...
The old greenworks could be height adjusted, for whatever reason they removed that feature from the newer model. Let us know how it goes when you use it.
Ended up mowing the lawn and trying out the dethatcher just now. Im 99% sure this is just a rebranded greenworks one or something (which is highly rated). Tons of the images and text from the Kobalt...
I can post a picture in a few hours. I didn't even know kobalt made one and it's not listed on Lowe's website, seems like a discontinued model. Crowfoot had 1 left as of yesterday. The instruction...
I bag my front lawn so the grass clippings don't make a mess, dump them straight into the bin.
My backyard I mulch.
Ended up getting an electric Kobalt dethatcher from Lowes today for $100, so we'll see how that goes. 14 inch/10 amp like the greenworks, so hopefully its just as good.
I have a pretty small yard so was thinking about getting something like this

Didn't know you could get a blade for a...
Do you guys dethatch/remove dead grass pretty regularly? Any recommendations for a thatching rake?
