Is there a protection light lit up on the amp at all? It's possible when the power line came loose it shorted the ampifier. Have a look at the speaker connections as mentioned and if you can 't...

You should be able to run one of those subs with that amplifier but you have to make sure you are bridging the amplifer and running it mono. It should be marked on the speaker terminals telling you...
