It was no charge, but I think mainly because I told him I had specifically asked the previous tech if they had cleaned it, which they clearly didn't.
Update:
The tech showed up around noon and almost immediately figured it was the flame sensor.
It was a PITA for him to remove (a couple awkward placed screws), requiring a small ratcheting...

Thanks. I'll see if I can take a look at the condition of it now. I have some 1200 grit emery paper. No steel wool, but I could get some...
I'll try and wait for the tech to arrive since its under warranty and I paid them something like $150 to clean the damn sensor a couple months back, lol.

I thought I needed a special 'key' to remove the cover but my 6mm hex key from my bike tool worked fine!
I confirmed that when the furnace switches 'on', there's an orange glow from the igniter...
Yup, I just added some info to my post that I was able to run some plastic tubing on both pipes at least a couple feet into the wall. Couldn't go any further likely because of some change in...
They cleaned the flame sensor at the end of October as part of the annual service so surprised if it might be that.
I just checked the intake/exhaust pipes and was able to run some plastic tubing...
More info:
When the furnace calls for heat, I hear a small fan (not the main blower) start up, and after a short while the typical sound of the burners attempting to come on, but the whole thing...
Woke up feeling cold and when I looked at my thermostat it was reading 13.5C.
Furnace quit running sometime overnight. I called the HVAC company and left a message on their after hours line, and...
I just bought four very wide zebra shades for my basement. I had checked out a number of online stores and this local company, Shade-It, beat them by quite a margin.
Plus, they installed them at no...
Are you planning on using any surge protection on your main panel, or maybe just at point of use?
Thanks! Will definitely look into it.
In the market for a few used trucks. Prefer F150's (3.5L/V6) crew cabs with somewhere up to 75K or so on the odometer. Minor body damage is fine.
Other than Driving Force and random dealerships are...
Anyone here ride Cloudline in Canmore yet? New trail built by CAMBA. Its just East of Highline and connects near the fire road by Stewart Creek. Fantastic trail!

I'm getting my basement developed and had one room pre-wired for a 5.1.2 (Atmos) setup with either in/on wall speakers and a couple of in-ceilings, and a floor sub.

Rode McKinnon Flats area (SE of CGY) last weekend and it was all dry except for a couple small areas. Highly recommended for an early season rip.

I've had a couple of very small back ups caused by tree roots which I fortunately caught just in time. If you call 311 they'll send an emergency crew out sometimes the same day, or early the next, to...
Will there be a poly vapor barrier applied over the foam or will they be placing concrete directly onto it?

I was quoted nearly $2,500 for 4 'zebra' type roller shades by RGO for my basement. These windows are quite wide (70"-82" x less than 30" high) but that still seems more than a bit steep.

Looks great. Are those hollow box beams/post claddings or solid wood?
Will there be any exterior insulation on your house?
I just had a 40 year-old Lennox replaced with a 96% efficient 60,000 BTU Trane with 2-stage burner and ECM motor. It cost me $5,310+gst installed by PTP a couple months ago.
Very happy with the work...
Hopefully things have changed but Atco was booking over 4 months out last year when I had mine done.
I had an old (early 80s) "low efficiency" furnace and the guy started pulling things like the...
Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I think running on batteries isn't likely to be reliable over the longer term so I'll see if I can reposition the wires. Just hate making messing with the new siding. ...
Do the Ring Video Doorbells work reliably in our climate if running just off the battery rather than being hardwired?
I have the Ring 3 (Costco) and was wondering if its worth it to move my wires...
resolved.
Just got back to working DT and tried the brisket soup at Koya Japan at Bankers Hall. It's been a couple of years since I had it and either the quality has lowered or my expectations have raised....
