For the time it takes to do it, take the wheel off and look at the pads. One is probably worn down to the backing plate.
If just that caliper was (is) getting hot, it likely is sticking.
Jack up the back and turn the wheel by hand. If you can feel resistance the brake is dragging. It should spin freely.
You'd be better off to buy a manual parts car. That way you'd have all the pieces that you need. Even getting access to a wreck and stripping everything for the manual would be okay.
If you have a bubble in the heater hoses/core try cranking the switch from hot to cold and back a few times. The valve opening and closing may dislodge the bubble and send it on it's way. If it...
Hardware store plumbing dept. may have a plug. Or try a wreckers. They often have a variety of plugs they use to plug rad or cooler tubes when shipping.
Most products that claim to improve mileage don't. If a magic can of gunk could do that, then the manufacturers would use it.
Years ago when they tested Toyotas for maximum mileage they drove in...
The only advantage here is that the paint is applied with a roller and you value your labour/time at $0. The sanding time and effort to make the paint smooth more than makes up for having someone...
Like they said before, it's her car and her choice of where to get it fixed. All you have to do is fork over the dough.
It may be just me, but if someone crashes into me and then says they can...
foam/f'glass sandwich
Something like this would be a lot easier for you to work with. I assume you want to make new fenders with a larger wide body type flare to them.
I see no advantage to...
Besides which, there is no great weight leaning side to side in the front.
Sorry about the times. One of the guys has one with 400,000 kms on it, but he does have a smaller pulley installed as...
Awwwwww! You made me roffle! :dunno:
Unfortunately, APC neglected to add us to their vast array of quality aftermarket parts.
When you play with 20 year old toys, you need to be a little...
The Fiero rotor is a combo rotor hub/bearing. Unfortunately it is also solid (non-vented).
A common upgrade is to trim the stock rotor down to the hub and use a Grand Am vented rotor (& caliper). ...
Just pick up a used 3800 s/c motor and tranny and throw that in. Be cheaper than rebuilding and adding an aftermarket blower.
Or take that 3800 s/c and chuck it into a Fiero.....
Any machine shop can do it. Take the new Grand Am (or whatever) rotor along. Explain that you want the old one machined so that the hub just fits into the new rotor.
You may need new longer...
A little late but.......
try Ontario-Quebec Grand Prix Club Check the link at the top for 'knowledge base' and search the forum for threads on exhaust and CAI mods.
Also same deal for Club GP...

Some wreckers deal with companies who supply new/refurbished parts like bumper covers. They often come in an expensive OEM version and a not so expensive version. The cheapy...
3.3 Olds.....snicker!!!! Just kidding.
Domestics actually have a pretty easy time with exhaust work. Any Magaflow, Flowmaster, Walker, or pretty much any performance muffler will do. You can...
They've had this sort of thing since the 60's advertised. From people I've talked to in the industry, it works well in indudtrial settings. Water pipes, towers, pipelines, etc are the targets. The...
Just a couple of points that come to mind.
If the leafblower...errr...compressor is powered by a little gas engine it will sound soooooo cool!
If it's electric, the other traffic may keep...
^^^^^^ ROFL I was thinking exactly the same thing. And I had a 65 VW Bug :drama:
Seriously, buy a newer or more advanced car, or if you like the Stang get one. After you dump a ton of...
Maaco is in business to do quickie repaints at fairly low cost and lots of turnover.
The quality of any paint job rests on two things. The experience and ability of the guy spraying and the prep...
It's all in the design. Dual is not always better, cooler maybe.
Proper design is an art, just because it's big or looks good doesn't mean it's efficient.
A friend did this for a guy in Toronto in exchange for the Bonneville SSEi. He then promptly put another 3800 s/c into the Bonnie.
Why did the 6000 owner do it? who knows, the car was a junker. ...
You didn't mention this first time round. Lowering the car will affect the alignment. Get it aligned and drive safe.
This is a complete custom job. Unlike your neighbourhood Honda guy who drops a motor and sticks in a new one in a weekend, GM likes to make everything different.
If you can weld, fab, design,...
Pontiac Fiero with a 3800 s/c (or add a turbo to a 3800 n/a)
Not high tech, and you can take the whole car apart with a couple of wrenches. Parts are available and the base car is cheap.
Still...
:banghead: :dunno:
It's kind of ironic that it's a j-body.
If your parents would be upset with a burnout, please call the dealer and price a clutch replacement.
Does Mommy have that in the cookie jar? If so,...
No you cannot add a supercharger to your engine economically. Yours is an L36 3800 (n/a) and the other is an L67 (s/c). While the big parts are the same, most of the engine's internals are...

You'll find something either in the links section or someone on their forums can point you in the right direction. It's probably the biggest old car organization in the...
And now for the practical, old fart's view. :D
While a Lambo or little Porsche may do wonders for you, you may want to look at it from the new Mrs. Joeyjoejo's side. Being crammed into the car...
Yep, coolant burning produces white smoke. If it is that noticeable, then you should be losing coolant. Is your rad or tank low constantly? If you've let it go down you may have an air bubble...
Technically, if the engine is in between the two axles, it's MR. If it hangs out the back behind the driven wheels, it's RR.
RR = Porsche 911, Chev Corvair, old VW Bugs (vans, squarebacks, etc). ...
You've obviously not driven a mid-sixties bug. Drum brake technology in Deutchland wasn't up to today's standards.
Besides, what makes you think that someone over the age of 6 riding a tricycle...
You really need a complete manual donor car for the hundred little bits that you'll need.
It's a long tedious job, and unless you really love your car, it isn't worth the hassle.
I'll assume it's a bug. Try

I see they list rear caliper brackets, etc. They may be a later irs setup, though. I'll bet they can help with info at least. There...
Just for fun, solo 2 in 2002. :drama:
Here's the new heart, waiting to go in.
Okay this is hard. Late summer 2003, looks a bit like the stuff at your local junker. :dunno:
A lot of stuff was off to be blasted, cleaned or lost forever.
