Wouldn't bad wheel bearings make a constant sound? or does it just get louder when i accelerate making it noticable?

I had considered that, but wouldn't that make the noise at all times? and get worse around corners? It doesn't do either right now.

My car did the same thing, if you have a distributor, you probably got water in it. it should be easy to tell if you did, just open up the distributor cap and you'll see water marks.
