Wrangler All terrain adventure is much better on ice than the wrangler duratrac. The smaller tread blocks improve winter handling immensely. Not a true dedicated winter tire, but mountain snowflake rated, and pretty decent. I just bought a set.

The COMFORSER CF3000 I am looking at also have a snowflake symbol on them, I am guessing with 4x4 they should be good enough. What I am wondering though is would I be able to fit them on my rims. Like I said I have 285/60R20 and the closest size these come in are 33 12.5R20. So I wonder if these sizes are interchangeable like one of the local shops said apparently they are.
The p zeros on my mustang have a snowflake symbol. I put just about 0 faith in it as a judgment of winter prowess.

Duratracs are an excellent year round tire... and often 20% off at Cdn Tire.
Taking a look online I am now seeing that the AT adventures are more expensive than Duratrac right now. Is something off with that? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I swore Duratrac was the premium tire over the adventures?

I've put 12.5 wide tires on stock 8.5 wide wheels before with no issues. Those are probably 20x9, which I have done as well without issues. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Those CF3000 tires are going to be terrible in winter. I've ran mud terrains in winter before and you can do it, but you can't let your guard down ever. They have their place but around town and bombing up and down the highway isn't it.

Jaheeezus. 4x4 will get you moving, it won't help you stop when you're sliding on ice. I know you're new to trucks, but you're asking to be in the ditch with those tires... Those Comforser (who the hell is comforser..?) look like they would be absolute hell on the highway in winter.. We dont deal with big snow drifts and snow events, we deal with sheet ice and wind swept highways..This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This is coming from a guy who drives his tacoma, in 4x4, with duratracs in winter. Duratracs suck on ice, to the point of being a bit scary and i'd rather drive my wife's matrix to the mountains. And I can nearly guarantee the duratracs will outperform the Comforser.. Love the duratracs for limited off-roading, but otherwise they suck on typical winter days in Alberta. I'll be changing to something either better on ice, or getting a dedicated winter tire this year

Those Comforsers look like Mud terrain tires.. Those will be horrible in the winter on ice.
I would just go with a aggressive All terrain if you want the aggressive look and still have okay traction on snow and ice.
Duratracs (shitty on ice) or BFG KO2's. But both are pretty pricey.
Are K02’s any better on ice than duratracs?
The internet seems so heavily biased towards “get duratracs” I don’t know what to believe.

Ko2's are terrible on ice.
I ran a set of Duratrac's (albeit studded) as a winter setup on one of my old trucks, they performed quite well!
If you want a set of tires with good all season performance I would look at the General Grabber AT2
Worst case scenario I will get Duratracs because I do like the look of them. They are pricey but will bite the bullet. But if they are also shit on ice then I am not sure. Is there a good mid point about something that'll look aggressive at least like the Duratracs but perform better in winter than them? I guess ideally I'd like something that looks aggressive but is also good year round and decent price. If I had to compromise, I guess I would on the cost. Those General Grabber AT2 look aggressive from Google images, I will see if they come in the size I need.

You could always stud them?

Ya the studded duratracs are probably the best of all cases.. duratracs are loud as is, so studding couldnt make them that much worse
If this is a winter specific setup and it was up to me after using both setups studded, I would get the AT2's and stud them. They look great and outperformed the Duratrac's IMO.
Just buy the duratracs.. They will work fine in the winter, just drive them on ice and learn how the truck and tires handle braking. Me personally, I would not want to run studs year round.
from my experience: Nokian studded LT > KO2 > Duratrac (non studded) in the winter but seems like everyone has different experiences with these tires.
I am not sure I want to stud the tires and run them all summer round. The tires I get I want them to be year round, not just winter specific. I am running out of room with all the freaking winters tires stored everywhere for all the vehicles, don't want to add another massive ass set to that.
Dude the chances of you still owning this come first snowfall are so slim as it is...

I ran the KO2's last winter and they are IMO the best looking and performing tire for year round. Prior to that I was using the exo grappler (also snow rated) and while I enjoyed the aggressive tread, in the ice they were useless.

+1 Toyo AT2's Great tire, drove to Louise in a blizzard with them and they were great and the first few months of winter last season cause i was too lazy to swap my rims haha. (i run dedicated studded winters)
From my own experience, the KO2 are much better than the Duratrac on ice. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The GY Adventure are a fairly new tire but 2 of my coworkers have them and neither of them like the tire due to the poor winter performance.
