This is why you have kids when your parents are old and near retiring. They can look after the kids for you

Jelly of all the kids who got to go to camp and do fun things. Good on you parents for giving your kids the opportunity to do so.

Summers were boring af for me growing up lol

My child hood days were spent in the bunker and trying not to get killed.
So I make every effort to make sure my daughter enjoys her child hood.

I read the first post and thought my response was going to be automatic, then I read the rest of the thread, fuck when did this forum get so old that we're all talking about nannies, daycare and after tax earnings and it sparks the most response.
The finance threads gets a ton of action too. It's all about making a buck and saving a buck these days.

No. Automatic response was "Why has it gotten to a point where you are creating a thread? She should have been cut loose the first second she flaked on anything."

Would need pictures before I could offer the response you mention. Earlier days, no picture would have been required... but I guess I am maturing.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Especially with a household income of $200k+... For a few hundred dollars a month to pay a better rate, to (presumably) get a better nanny and not have to go through the hassle & headaches of finding another one a few months down the road... Interesting choice to make...

It is not... But it should be enough not to nickel and dime on the care of your children

I mean my wife and her friends think 2k for 2 kids (one which is after school care only and is $700 a month) is too expensive. The 3.5 year old costs $1350 a month at this place and its the only licensed daycare in our neighborhood. The only reason I didnt consider this place before is because when i first enquired it was going to be $1400 a month for before and afterschool care and $1350 for the preschooler - at that price might as well get a nanny because then you dont need a cleaner as well.

I didnt actually know that this place did afterschool care for my kids school so Im relieved that I can have them both at the same place. And we dont really need a nanny anymore - 3 months ago my MIL had just gotten out of hospital as well and we were thinking she would be in much worse situation with her health. We would just let her look after both but we dont want our kids watching paw patrol 8 hours a day.
